That's not a bad analysis on Apple (re: capital gains), I could definitely see that. I'm definitely big on Apple, I see it as a good long term investment, as is Google. Yes, upgrading to the SSD is totally worth it, especially for any kind of editing. If you can afford spending the extra money, I would definitely go ahead and do it. Enjoy the new computer! B

I paid for an App.net account during its Kickstarter campaign, the service is nice, as is the community. However, with that being said, there is still a lot to be developed before the service really starts to take shape and other services are built around it. At the new price point of $36/year, if you like to be an early adopter and try new things, I'd say go for it. B
