Well my speedo went again. I grabbed another cluster and that didn't work so I bought a new VSS and still no go. I have cleaned up and replaced many body grounds and nothing. I have an idea that the speedo wiring harness or dash plug the the cluster plugs into is shot. Time for a tach. A buddy smashed his truck and destroyed the front end. I was lucky to buy the only surviving tires (back). I paid $40 for a pair of B.F. Goodrich 235/70/15 All-Terrain T/A mounted on steel 5x5 GM rims. The tires had less than a 1000 miles. G4's web team is seriously lacking in knowledge of forum software. Why they picked that crappy Jive junk beats the crap out of me. All they did was send us backward. I have reduced my time spent there quite a bit in the last year due to some of the members and poor function of the website.

Usually with a bad processor the board will "start" but you would receive no signal to the monitor. The last time I dealt with this issue it was with a couple of old AMD Durons that I picked up cheap. Both were bad.

Just because an item is quarantined doesn't mean it is blocked if you revisit where you received it from.

What brand is the power supply and what wattage? Cheap power supplies can go bad in a short time. Yes I would try each stick of memory separately in each slot to see if it's just a bad stick or slot. If all slots are bad then a new mobo would be in your future.

Kingston memory sticks do have a lifetime warranty. Try running just those two sticks together and check them with memtest. That file structure problem and the rebooting could be caused by a failing power supply.

There is no way I could or would turn a nice GMC into a Ford. Believe it or not that old dilapidated GMC blows the F150 out of the water. It handles more of a load, it's quicker, gets better mileage and is more comfortable to ride in. The Ford is for when the snow/mud gets too deep and hunting/fishing trips.

The never ending task of maintaining a vehicle. I finally traced my speedo problem to a bad ground. What fun tracing the wiring under the dash. The truck has always leaked some oil from the rear main seal. Lately it had gotten worse. I decided to check the PCV system. The valve was fine, but there was no vacuum. The normal cause on GM TBI setups is a plugged manifold port. I pulled the PCV tube off the intake and definitely had vacuum. I blew through the tube and discovered it was plugged. The previous idiot that owned the truck had put a plug in the tube for some unknown foolish reason. I pop

After you right clicked the Desktop did you look through the options listed in the window? I wonder what lays behind Sort By or View or maybe even Personalize?

It would seem that Vista should be the same as WinXP. Right click the Desktop and select Arrange Icons By and make sure Auto Arrange and/or Show In Groups isn't checked.

It is interesting to note that people using services such as Monster still insert personal contact and other vital information. I did a resume search some time ago and found people actually did list their SSN along with their address and birthdate. It would have been easy to rip them off. One might think that people at that level of job seeking would have more common sense.
