  1. To disable Adobe Updater for Adobe Reader 8. Delete the folder Updater5. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5 Also delete AdobeUpdater.dll from: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader If C:\ is where your OS is installed to. For DreamsAndGasoline's shutdown problem. This could be caused by a program staying resident in memory or your anti-virus program checking removable drives or the floppy drive on shutdown. User Profile Hive Cleanup Service will help with the first issue. To solve the second issue you will need to uncheck the option in your anti-virus program to check the drives

  4. I need an eye opener. I think I'll opt for a diet Pepsi. I got a midnight service call for a broken pipe on a sump pump. With the steady rains the water was rising fast in a tenants's basement. Why did I allow myself to be talked into an apartment housing maintainence contract.

  7. I would get many prank calls due to a change in phone number. A drug dealer used to have my new number. His friends were morons. A simple air horn soon discouraged them. It must really hurt the ears over a phone. I was getting calls from bill collectors, druggies, probation officer and his grandmother. After telling his grandmother to tell him that I didn't appreciate getting calls from his probation officer, drug buyers and bill collectors it didn't take him long to notify everyone that his number was different.. She must have been shocked to know what he was involved with.

  10. Self taught. IT jobs around here don't pay much plus the  list of applicants is huge for those jobs. It's really bad when one of my gal pals makes more money than most people working IT, operating a tow motor. She started out at $60,000 a year plus benefits that include full health insurance and a guaranteed pension.

  13. I have windows xp home edition. Does that matter so much? And yes, I ran the sfc /scannow but I don't know how to find the file path thingey to register the dll. If they require WinXP Pro then I would assume it means it is necessary. As for registering the .dll go to Run and type cmd then press the <Enter> key. In the command window type regsvr32 mshtml.dll (notice there is a space between 2 & m) then press the <Enter> key. You should receive a confirmation that it worked.
