The best minimum partition size for WinXP is 15- 20GB. This gives it room to grow as Microsoft keeps adding updates for it.

Old homes definitely open up to the weather. My house was built in the late 1800s. Stone foundation with a dirt crawl space under the old store front section. I still have lath and plaster with who knows what for insulation. The ceilings are ten feet in the front section where I spend 90% of the time. I closed off the upstairs of the main part of the house. Some day I'll gut this place and start over.

Note: If you did not set a administrator password just leave it blank and press Enter. NTOSKRNL.EXE is missing or corrupt. If this problem is due to APM and you can boot into safe mode either check or uncheck Enable Advanced Power Management Support. This can be done by going to Control Panel - Double clicking Power Options. It is located under the APM tab. Did you do anything previous to this happening? Install new hardware or etc.? As a last resort. WinXP repair install -
Why is fall time cleaning of the house so much more work than spring cleaning? I decided to go down in the basement to see what needed to be done to get this place winterized. I scoped out the crawl space, thanks be no skunks in residence, and found that my heating ducts were pulled apart. The crawl space is only 32" high. I squeezed in and pulled the ducts out to clean them and pop them back together. Three hours of working on that project felt like a ten hour work day. I still have to go back in and fill in some air spaces around the perimeter with some spray foam.

Break time. It must be time to winterize everyone's PCs. Since yesterday I've helped fix three over the phone and four here at home. The problems have ranged from a bad IDE cable to a bad motherboard. Besides those I still have a Compaq that the owner installed WinXP Pro (school purchase) over WinME that was never updated since 2003. It didn't even have SP1 or any security updates plus the Panda anti-virus was never activated or updated. What a mess. I still can't bypass the WGA to get SP1a or SP2. I have to get the info about what school he purchased WinXP from so I can call MS to validate it

Isn't that the truth. I can remember when all it took was a quick couple of hours to thoroughly clean up a PC and have it running like new. Now this damn malware gets so embedded within the system you need several different programs to clean it out. It also seems as though 75% of the users haven't taken the time to download updates or even bothered to obtain an up to date anti-virus program. If you could charge them the standard going rate in the area for these services they could buy a new cheap Dell.

The last time I had a starter refurbished for a diesel truck it cost me $125.00. That truck had been constantly shutdown and restarted for over 10 years before the starter messed up. Car starters I can get rebuilt for less than $75.00. There are very few starters that I cannot replace within 1/2 hour. My friend owns one of the local taxi companies and he has his drivers shut the cars off while waiting. These vehicles take some awful abuse. He has to put new engines and transmissions in before a starter goes bad. With the newer vehicles using fuel injection the consumption of gas is minimal on

I think parents with kids in school should be liable for the education expenses or if everyone is to be taxed then the damn tax exempt institutions such as churches should pay their fair share.

When you add up 12 city cop cars and 4 SUVs plus all of the city's trucks and equipment idling almost 24/7 that's a lot of fuel per week/month/year. Now figure the county mounties and their 30+ cars, large prisoner vans and SUVs idling or being driven back and forth to work and home. I can't count how many times I've seen county workers sitting in the diner for over an hour eating and their vehicles were outside running. Or my pet peeve watching about 5 laborers standing around leaning on their shovels watching equipment idling that is not doing any work. The only time up here that it is nece

What gets me is that I'm a liberal that lives in the most Republican dominated area of NY. They're the ones allowing this while the liberals are trying to reduce the problems. I believe the parties are switching roles. I don't condemn welfare, but I do condemn it's abusers. I was taught early on that one worked hard to pay the bills. I didn't even want to sign up for SSI but didn't really have much choice in the matter. Of course I also had to look at it that I worked all these years for the benefit. My biggest benefit was that NY has it's own health plan that workers can get at a low cost if

See that is EXACTLY what would make you a great teacher!.. Fear is a powerful motivator. BH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Their welfare collecting parents would be screaming lawsuit. This city is over 50% welfare recipients. Another 20% are on unemployment from factory jobs. The kids have no respect for anyone. The theft and drug rates are high here. We have gangs here from Syracuse setting up crack houses. We also have a high population of migrant workers who found out that hooking up with the fat welfare pigs and selling drugs was better than working.

In my county (Oswego) all of the deputy sheriffs get their own personal patrol car to take home with them when they are off. To me this is a waste of the taxpayers money. The Republicans gave them this deal. In NY the Republicans are the worse offenders of tax and spend plus bigger government.

It's not too late BH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't have the temperment to be a teacher. The first student to piss me off would go through the door while it was closed.

Our liberal Senators and Legislaters are pushing for the temporary removel of the sales tax on gas. Our conservative governor (Pataki) is too busy running around the country greasing the top Republican palms in his attempt to run for President instead of helping with a solution. Our Democrat attorney general, soon to be new governor, is investigating the gas companies for price gouging. The only reason given that the removal of the tax is a bad thing is that the government needs the money to pay it's increased fuel costs. The only problem with that argument is the state, county and city govern

Filter Material For Pc Case ?
TheTerrorist_75 replied to mlegg510's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Argg! Blade fans are notoriously bad for pulling air through a filter. I tried to use a box fan with a good filter and burned it out. Airflow basically stopped. If you notice, auto AC units, home AC units, and other filter applications use a blower. I really like the idea of a remote air source. My machine is quite loud. I might have to try this. I have used the flexible air vent he used, and that stuff is great. You cant hear air flowing through it. BH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Automotive air filters are very easy to draw air through yet still trap minute particles. The K&a -
