  1. KDE will run on that unit, it will be a bit slow though. For x windows I recommend that you use XFce, that will work just fine with 128 MB RAM. For a P 333 Mhz I'd try a lighter distro. Mandriva 2006 runs quite fast and is easy to install, Suse will probably work well. Ubuntu and Fedora require a lot of RAM to run well. The best distro for your unit as it is has an older processor and a limited amount of RAM is Slackware, that would really run well with XFce. Slack is a bit more difficult to install, but, you'll learn a lot about Linux.

  3. Today it is very cool and wet in my neck of the woods, Northern, B.C., Canada. We have yet to have any snow which is very odd for our location. I don't mind it though, but, it is disturbing that the weather patterns are perhaps permanently shifting.

    I really enjoyed the first four hours of this 24 hour period. Hour five is coming Monday. This season is really starting with a bang:-)

  7. This isn't a screenshot, but,a picture of my IBM Apache Web eserver. It does the job.
  8. rather then knock it, why not help code it so that you can help make it have more pop. latest desktop, took 9 hours to make this using the Gimp. Very sweet, Dragon! Well-said! Linux can be as flashy as any OS. I have a lot to learn to catch up with you, man:-)

    Hi Matt, I also saw the first two hour installment last night. Once again, I'm totally hooked by 24! I will certainly be watching tonight's show. I really enjoy this show!
