You are very welcome, my friend! Very well-said, robroy! The membership at BT has made our jobs for the most part obsolete. That is, we have a diverse membership of gamers, windows users, linux users, technophiles, and people with a distinct point of view. At Besttechie.net we are fortunate because we have the best members at our forum. Recent events in my life have encouraged me to take stock, and take a look around at things. I am a very lucky person. I'm healthy, have a good life, and have good friends! Folks, I know it is easy to be fascinated with the machinations of other forums.

The rpm package manager (yum) in FC4 is quite good, you should have your LAMP server up in no time. I've used rpm managers (Red Hat, Fedora, Mandriva), Yast in Suse, apt-get in Debian and Ubuntu, and installpkg in Slackware. I would say from personal experience that the one that handles dependency issues very well is apt-get. I haven't used it, but, I know from the experts here that Gentoo's port system is also excellent. FC4 should do the job for you. P.S. The experts are better qualified to answer questions 2-3.

Hi Folks, If you are on dial-up or you are getting tired of downloading huge iso files you can buy Linux CDs from these stores for a few bucks, the prices can range from 5-10 dollars. The Ubuntu site offers free CDs, that is, totally free, no shipping charges. Cheapbytes.com Discount Linux CDs OSDisk.com Free Ubuntu CDs P.S. added later. I still like to download my own isos. Here's a site where you can download some Linux isos. LQ Isos
