Nope. I even created a folder named "prefetch" and still nothing.

Like i said....i cannot find the task scheduler listed in the services. So i cant tell if its enabled or not.

Hello all, I have known that i have had no prefetch folder ever since i reformatted long time ago. Now that i have some free time, i will try to somehow get it back. Ive been reading and what not, and from what i get u need the task scheduler to be enable in order for the prefetch folder to work. Now for some reason when i go into the services....i dont see the task scheduler so i dont know if its enabled or not. So does anyone know how exactly to get the prefetch folder back? Oh and i did not delete it, for some strange reason while i finished reformatting i noticed i had no prefetch folder

Like many on this board, I am currently using Opera. But im having trouble getting the spell checker to work. I followed the directions here and for some reason it will not work. Any ideas?

Ok i just did something and i dont know what happened. Now when ever i try and click on it, it prompts me with an "open with" dialog?

The program is called AceUtilites and when i try and open the .exe to install it gives me the error message.

When I attempt to open the program i get the following message...."windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." But I am the admin on this computer. Anything i can do?

From my understanding, and someone can correct me if im wrong here. But isnt so that programs have port numbers for a firewall to allow it to connect to the internet? But how would i find my computers port number? I dont mean IP address.

Well if your absolutely sure its just a problem with windows media player, and the computer is brand new.......then i would take the computer back and request for a new one or have it fixed. Mostly likely this wont be the case. Check out the speakers and make sure they are installed properly with the latest drivers. If not then re-installing windows media player wont hurt.

I dont know how many of you here are familar with the game Americas Army but I obsolutely love the game and I think its time that I change my name for it. I currently have it as "MG_Stealth" but im kinda bored with it. So just throw some ideas on the table and I will see what i have to work with.

Hello all, My oldest brother recently password protected his admin account so of cousre when windows starts it asks for the password. I told him there was a way around it of course by going into safe mode. lol he somehow was able to password protect his safe mode account? so now when you want to get into safe mode it asks for a password! ok im dead set that theres still a way around this? hahhaha is there?

Hey all, I have just installed perfect keylogger by blazingtools and i was wondering if this is a legit keylogger. The reason im asking this is because all of my anti-spyware/adware/virus programs that include; microsoft anti-spyware, ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, a2, and avast antivirus are all picking this up as a serious threats. So should i leave this software installed?

Hey all, I was wondering where i could download some free games. Just various types of 2-D and arcade games are ok.

I went at it again and this time i finally fixed it! For those of you wondering how i did it, this was how: I uninstalled alcohol 120%, rebooted. Deleted the SCSI controller under DVD/CD devices. Then deleted both of the items under SCSI and RAID Controllers. Went into the system devices and also deleted both of the plug and play BIOS extension. Rebooted a couple times. The i installed the newest version and followed the expert install mode so i can rename the SCSI Controllers that it installs. Rebooted. And bang! lol it worked.

lol sorry about that guys, im such an idiot. i put a space between my friends addy and the @ sign. and i also put an extra "o" at the end of yahoo. hhahahahaha my bad. but u think they could simplfy these sorts of emails so one can understand them lol.
