Hello there: Brian here Last night, I figured that I would run AVG Antispyware 7.5, because my computer has been slow of late. This behavior manifests itself the following ways. 1. Websites open slower then normal - seems as if when clicking on a site, it opens, but wants to go back to google.com before the site opens correctly. IE also opens slowly. 2. some links in forum sigs and posts will not open when clicked, while other pages have no problem opening links when clicked. 3. suspect spyware of some sort, but not sure if I cleaned it all: 4. CD Burner sometimes will burn discs with

I would have to agree with marty. It does NOT matter how many changes this board goes through, as long as the people that make Besttechie the way it is stay around. You guys and gals are awesome, and I can think of nowhere else I would rather be - and that is the truth Brian

Howdy: I like the updates, but need to find out how you add "friends" to your list. I have visited at least 15 profiles and clicked on "add a friend" and I STILL don't have any friends to display. For example - I clicked on BT's profile, but he still is not listed as a friend - Is there something I am doing wrong here?? Just curious Brian

Welcome to Besttechie Lisa! The people at besttechie are TOPS - they have a knack for helping those that have computer problems, and I think of them as family members - Marty is also a cool guy and I have used some of his advice in the past. Any friend of his is a friend of mine Welcome, and Enjoy your Stay Brian

I too want to wish everyone at Besttechie all the best in 2007 - may all your dreams and plans for yourselves come to pass - I will have to move again next month or so because the Shared Housing Conversion performed by Barre Housing Authority has a target completion date of 1/26/07! So far, we are on schedule for the return. This is MY Dream come true: I have lived with roommates since 1991 (college) and I can tell you that there have been good times and bad times. On March 30, 2006, I left Shared Housing Unit 107 for the last time, and there have been good memories while living there, as w

I suspect that a spam removal application, such as Spamassassin, has marked messages as [spam] because the spam level for that system has been reached or exceded. Some systems simply mark the mail as spam, using the systemwide spam level set by administrators. Still others may mark the mail as spam and you won't know it because the spam messages that are received are instantly deleted. I have to set it this way in Florida because there has been a marked increase in spam to all of our system aliases - this basically has the effect of deleting spam before I see it. It sounds like your friend i

Interesting post: I had a friend named Bill that went to PA last summer and spent time with a supposed friend he met on the net. My friend has a large CD collection of music, and brought them all with him. One Night while he was in the restroom, this girl STOLE a bunch of his CD's and then told him that they were lost. So then he had to spend over $200 to replace some of the ones he lost, and did not get ALL of them back: She set him up badly, and then later on, told him that she took the CD's - my buddy got mad, and did not talk to her for awhile - He and I BOTH can't STAND LIARS and Thi

This happens here at the manor. They use Electric Hot Water, so there are 10 floors of apartments: If you want a shower, you either have to get up before 5am, or at 5am, or wait to take a shower at 12 Noon. If you don't take a shower during those times, the water is ICE COLD, and you will be taking a shower at 11 or 12 Midnight. Washington Apartments does not have this limitation, but there are 119 other people that live at the manor, and 51 apartments at Washington - over there, they use oil fired heat and hot water, and I swear, you could stay in there for 2 hours and have the hottest wat

40 Percent Of Aol Subscribers Don't Own Computers!

I think you are being kind. It was probably maliciously given advice so that he could make a large profit on. I have a hard time believing anybody with some tech knowledge would recommend something like that. I certainly wouldnt tell ANYONE to use any program that I would not have used myself. I think G4 used to be sponsored by the company that makes Stopsign, and they actually were "convinced" to remove any ads that dealt with it, because our TS folks over there knew it was a bad program. I, being a Tech, am out there to try and HELP people fix computers. The only thing I charge for when d

Dec 7, Remembering The 'day That Will Live In Infamy'
baker7 replied to sultan_emerr's topic in Open Chat
Agreed Bearskin: Freedom is something that I enjoy, and the only way to keep us free is to remember that many soldiers of many branches of the service have died to allow me and others like me to be free of tyranical governments. There are so few PHS's (Pearl Harbor Survivors) that remain that it becomes important to remember the sacrifices that they have made for us. I was not even thought of in '41, but the history books give a vivid account of the goings on through that invasion - However, the best "History Book" is a person who was there. I thank ALL of the soldiers near and far, who have
