Agreed you must read the EULA (end user license agreement) and scan and read everything before you hit the accept button to load to your machine. Just a little info, recently i went looking for a new screensaver and man did i get hit, I managed to clean it because i know what I'm doing. But!!! it managed to intsall 18 variations of crap. The only reason i knew i was hit was the fact i have so much protection in my machine and it went a little nutty as soon as i hit open. So be careful!!!!!!

Sorry not my forum, can't say a word. But there are a couple small things in that log that can come out.

A LOP infection is this. Also know as: Ultimate Browser Enhancer lop lop.com Upon visiting the website, the user gets asked to install a high speed access tool which is in really a porn service dialer.... Also known to highjack browser error pages. I suspect this comes bundled with the messenger plus application. Nice thing about LOP there is a removal tool that works, just have to know where to get i t. Hope that helps

Well bud the only thing i can suggest is go to the hijack this area of the forum and post a log and let the techs have a look. I'm sure they will sort this mess out for you and will probably save you hrs and hrs of time.

Well as a matter of fact, I have had snortin norton on my machine at one time, took it out and put panda in it's place. Due to going out of sequence while doing some work on my machine, i had to format, where at that time I installed AVG. I have had that application in my machine now for some 3 months and it never has caused me a moments grief. And yes I am fully updated with Sp2 and await the next batch to come out, which by the way I was misinformed should be tommorow not today. Now! if I could convince everyone to switch to Firefox instead of IE, that would be amazing.

Just a suggestion on my part! go to the hijack log section and post the same question there. As the folks here have already tried to get you drivers and such, and nothing seems to be working, i suspect darker forces at work here.

I'm trying to understand why people are trying to duck SP2!!! It's there for a definate purpose and should not interfere with to many applications within your computer. If you suspect or notice odd things happening with your computer submit a hijack log, or see if you can track down a tech and ask his or her opinion. I installed SP2 as soon as it came out and have never had a problem with it. I run a 80GB machine with 30GB of info on it, with many many applications and have yet had even the smallest problem.

Msn Messenger itself is clean of all spyware/malware and the rest of the junk floating around. Messenger with the plus is a different story! You are almost guaranteed to end up with a LOP infection when you get this application. I can not say for sure, maybe one of the board techs can answer that question. In fact of you still have this on your machine, then the best bet would be to post a hijack log within that area and let the fine folks who are trained in this sort of thing have a boo at it for you.

Well I'm glad to hear there have been no issues. But as stated above, be careful as version 2.13 with the look to me entry can cause the dreaded blue screen of death. If you have this nasty and don't know it then you will have just compounded your problems, so be careful with it's use.
