  1. Ooohhh boy, nuther hot one today 91F, sunny, humid. Dang! We need rain soon, a real soaker would be nice. Glad you finally got some Blim. Yummmm, chocolate. The ultimate womans comfort food......
  2. I wonder if I can make pizza on the gas grill?
  3. Hmmm, Nerelda. Maybe an alternate universe?? Yeah Mac, I remember the 70's crunch. That's when the Japanese shoe boxes got real popular. Then the big three jumped on the wagon. But notice the slow but sure climb back up to cars with utility? Even the imports are now offering nice large family sedans with real horsepower. I'll admit the gas milage is much better with the bigger engines.. But most of that is because they are made of plastic and tinfoil now... How much did that old Lincoln weigh? My '74 Chevelle was over 4000 pounds. After removing the emmisions pump, adding dual exhaust w/turb
  4. *GACKKKKK* Are we gonna become a country of rollerskates like the UK??? There you get charged an extra bunch of $$$$ if you drive something over 1.4L Hell, we have motorcycles bigger than that here.
  5. Good job Macman. I would have done the same. And yep you sure can get in trouble that way... Too many (little) girls out there would cry wolf just for the attention. Makes you wonder about the "material world" (uh oh, nuther song to stick in my head all day) Give your kid a cell phone but don't teach her any street smarts. And why the hell would a mom let her go visit a friend when that mom would be going to work and leave her without a ride or at an unsupervised house. Don't we know how much mischief a 12 year old can get into.
  6. Robroy, the "Brit" loves American beer. He drank Bud in the UK, and says he really don't like anything but lagers. I like a full bodied brew, and our micro brewry makes "sunset red" that I just love... Can't drink much though because it's 7.75% WHoooWhoo! Nonononono! Blim, no pregnancy here, enough with the new kitten and other critters in the house. Ooohh, ain't ya gonna share a bit of that fudge??

    Sultan

You have been MIA again... welcome back my friend.
  8. Thanx IJ... I got a good laugh out of that because I found it shortly after I posted my rant. [RANT] So what about the price of beverages in the US? Why is it some beers are cheaper then name brand soda pops? Are they really just charging for the bottles and cans, while the contents is pennies? Or is it "whatever the traffic will bear" We have Coke and Pepsi wars here. One week Coke is on sale, the next, Pepsi. Now, where do they get off charging upwards of $1.99 for 2 liters at some stores and on sale at others for as low as .69 cents?[/RANT]
  9. I use the heck out of "Shout" Keep a spray bottle of it right by the dirty clothes hamper. Rule is to spray stains and grease before you toss in. If a spot gets missed and washed in, Shout the next wash gets it out, even greasy food stains on polyester.
  10. Hey Robroy. 'slpain that to the Brit, he's eating me outa house and home. heh and he's put on quite a "budda belly" in 6 months. Blim, you're right about a good loaf of bread. I am always on a quest for it. Found a great shop, (that goes to the farmers market too) but dang! $5 a loaf?? Now, beer is close to my heart. We are lucky here to have several micro brewerys. I buy "growlers" (1/2 gallons) of one called sunset red. Deeelish!
  11. Opps, in a jar huh? Did that as a kid as well, untill I noticed the population was shrinking.. Seems the lil buggers are carnivors and were eating each other. (who'd a thunk they needed food?)
  12. Now tg1911, "That" looks like a cooper I could live with.. How the heck do the Europeans go shopping? I save gas by going every two weeks.. Load up the van, pantry, and freezer. They must shop every other day.
  13. Ok, peace! "Bark!" A mother mouse and a baby mouse are walking along, when all of a sudden, a cat attacks them. The mother mouse yells, "BARK!" and the cat runs away. "See?" says the mother mouse to her baby. "Now do you see why it's important to learn a foreign language?"
  14. I love to watch them twinkle in the nite. Don't you know they sparkle because they're mating?
  15. It's a GMC safari, 4.2L V-6... And that's all city driving. No traffic jams or stop and go for miles of stop lights, but the longest trip on a highway(65-75mph) is about 4 miles to get across town. Heh heh, and of course I have that proverbial "lead foot" I just can't help exercising the power curve.
  16. irregularjoe. I'm not ranting at a multi lingual education. (or am I?) But you what you are saying is the same thing. Only we don't laugh at non-English speaking citizens, we bow to them. And spend tons of money making it easier for them *not* to learn our native language. Sure there should be more bi-lingual teaching in our schools. But what language? It's all in reverse, the hispanics are being taught in their language, without a strong push for learning English. And the immigrants? Well it's kinda funny they barely speak our launguage but they sure can count the money... I have respect for
  17. Those were the days. Them ole "boats" needed all that engine. And compression? dyn-o-mite! 69 was about the time they started de-stroking the big engines, lowering compression and horsepower. Too bad I say, we are now driving tin cans powered by rubber bands. GO HEMI! Check out the new Dodge Charger
  18. had to pass that one along. Hope you don't mind.
  19. $2.29.9 today... And it's gonna be higher for the 4th. $53 to fill my tank, drove 368 miles on 22.4 gals of gas. But I sure do like the git-em-up and go in that ole 4.2L.
  20. [RANT] So about this drivers license thing. What did they mean "in English" Duh0 this is America.. If you can't read English well enough to take the written test how the hell are you gonna read the road signs? BlaH!!! Damn G'ment pours out piles of unnessasary millions to print stuff in "other" launguages, ballots, licenses, all sorts of federal, state, signage. I say *stuff it!* If you can't read and speak English you have no right to vote or drive. (or get on welfare, medicade, food stamps, etc.) BTW, driving is not a right it is a privilege. [/RANT]
  21. RobRoy. the Brit aced his written test. Funny, (one for the rant thread) lady asked him, in English, if he wanted his test in English. What's up with that??? So now we gotta make and appointment with a independent contractor for his road test. Meanwhile he can still drive on his UK license. Looks like another fee besides the license $25 Blim, he did have a problem at first. He'd drive with his right tires on the shoulder, over the white line. When I asked him if it scared him to be on the *right* side of the road he said no, "that's the way I drove in the UK" Huh? If you drive that way
  22. Grrrr.... Ok, Non Athletic? I wouldn't want to sit in a noisy car doing close to 200 mph for three or four hours... Football games take four hours to play four 15 minute quarters. I really wonder what would happen if they played a *real* game, with only a 1/2 time break. BTW, in the turns these guys are taking as much as 4 G's and in a crash upwards of 10. Rednecks? Well dang, that's about 25% of this great United States. Heh heh, alright. Taken lightly, but do you see my point?
  23. Love and prayers to you and yours, my friend. Why God does unexplainable things at mysterious times is not for us to know. Please know she is in a better place and will always be with her loving family.
  24. Time for a quick cup of coffee and I'm outta here... Busy today, work in the morning, take cat to vets for EKKK!!! castration. And the Brit is going to take his test for a genuine USA drivers license. I think he's nervous about it. I told him if he could drive in the UK all bass-akwards like they do he'll be fine. (*ducks the thwap!)
