Hit count pays the bills... More traffic, more money from the ads that are everywhere.

That was the local administration's responsibilty. All that mayor did was run around yelling "the sky is falling!" (with his hand out) No cots or blankets on hand, no food or water. What's up with that? He's a leader? NOT! Did you notice the parking lot full of flooded school buses? Why? When folks needed a way out of town? The cities, then the state are the first responders of an emegency. Not Washington.

Oooh man. You said that so well JDoors, my sentiment exactly. My momma used to say... "s#it or get off the pot" I also figure many, many of them stayed behind to loot and steal. Surprize! It flooded too!

I told ya... Bozo spotted one in our neighbors yard yesterday. (the one that uses truck exhaust) So they are denning up for winter. I know I won't get one in my yard because of the "pack". We found a very dead possum the other day. Beware furry creatures that enter Bozo's yard, he has back up. For the weekend? We decided to conserve fuel and just stay home. Moved the garden shed today and have to get the gate, fences, pavers, and tools back in order. Plan on some BBQ, just cheese burgers tonite, but tomorrow shrimp and chicken shish ka bob. Laid in pleanty of beers too... I really wanted to go

Heh heh, Liz and Pat. This mess has everyone going. And I can't spell as fast as I type either......

Just what I said, sethook. The local leadership failed their people and how fast does anyone think the Feds can take over? Things are looking so much better there this morning. Food, water, evacs, and order is being restored. How much better it would have been if the local government officals had been prepaired to handle things long enough for the feds to get rolling. (remember, the feds can't/won't move until the governor designates a disaster and requests help.) God help all those who are suffering.

I really don't know what you mean, irregularjoe. Washington isn't our keeper. We, as a Republic, have control of our states and cities. If someone would go back to other natural disasters, I believe you'd find the same delay in response times. The mayor told everyone to get out, maybe he should have tried harder to move those without the means. I did see that parking lot full of flooded school buses. Why didn't he use them? Possibly because no one "thought" the levy would fail over 24 hours later? The mayor failed his people, the governor failed to respond in time, and you blame Washington? Yo

How true. Folks pray, but don't listen. Maybe we all should pray in front of a mirror...........

I'd be drinkin' my lunch... wondering why I didn't smash him... So any thoughts on why/how America has gotten this way? My thoughts are folks are more interested in their "toys", houses, jobs, and climbing the "ladder to success". Than caring about the people around them. What's the answer?

Man, I sure love fresh tomato season. I cringe at the thought of "winter", over priced, tastless, store bought ones. Heh, big sale this week. 77 cents a pound for dehydrated Romas. They were so poor looking, I wonder if any were sold. (and I only paid 79 cents a plant for a whole seasons worth)

Now the city is burning down.. And the low lifes are still living by "mob rule" Rape, murder, and mayhem.

WeeeHa! Holiday weekend! Beer, BBQ, beer, swimming, beer, walk in the woods, beer...... Oh yeah!

Oh, and don'tcha love the ones that race you to a spot... Like it hurts to walk two cars farther away. Or the ones that stop and wait for someone to leave a spot, holding up several cars in the process.

$3.20 here today. I'm surprized it isn't higher being it's labor day weekend.

Granted, but all you hear is people shouting. I wish I had a chocolate candy bar
