  1. Interesting list. I wonder what the tax versus the cost of gasoline would be, especially in high price countries? Pat God bless everyone
  2. Good article, thanks for posting it bozodog!!! Pat God bless everyone
  3. TK, so good to hear from you!!! Will be waiting to hear more about your lovely new bride, and how your kids are doing, once you get the time and opportunity. As I told Mac awhile back about his new girlfriend; inquiring minds want to know the details!!! Or at least snoopy ones do. Ha Ha! So we are curiously waiting for the details from you too TK. To bad about the laptop being ruined, maybe you can get a temporary used one at a yard sale, Goodwill, or Salvation Army etc. to use between now and when you get parts or a new one. Hmmm! I guess I'd better stay with desktops instead of ever g
  4. I agree morning clouds and cooler temps are a welcome relief here too, and cooler nights feel so good!!! About 90 yesterday and today with the morning clouds filtering into our area off the coast. To be even cooler next few days. Yea!!! I heard that Oregon nearly had some of it's major interstate transmission lines overload the other day. The news report said it was very close to losing them, which would have been bad news for California as they send our extra NW power to California. The reverse is true in Wintertime. That usually all works out for everyone, except when extreme temperatures
  5. I was just over there checking it out, and didn't have any popups with Google blocker and it didn't catch any either. Did find a newer (June 06) version is now available. Main Page for new EMS Free Surfer To get more info check out the read more links on main page, and the Support link on left. I think I will give it a try later to see if it works with my F-Secure Suite, and my Logitech wheeled mouse/keyboard (had a warning about some Logitech wheeled mice). Thanks Flatiron for suggesting it. Pat God bless everyone
  6. Thanks Chappy for fixing that one, and for telling me what was wrong and what I needed to do to fix the others!!! I think I found and fixed all the others, I hope. Sure surprised there were problems with them, because I usually do a preview and double check it again once a post is posted, so how did I miss seeing the mistakes I wonder? If I had seen it wasn't working right I would have just deleted that part, so am still wondering what was I thinking at the time. A mystery for sure! Was having such a good time doing them too, so you'd think I would have noticed them not working! Grrr! So
  7. Of course I meant the wacky normal of our bunch!!! Whenever some of our family is MIA then things are a bit duller, or just a bit off key, and not quite the same around here!!! Pat God bless everyone
  8. Smarta$$... That proves the place is back to normal around here with Chappy back on board!!! Ha Ha!!! Pat God bless everyone
  9. I'm sorry about the death of your family member Bobby, hope the rest of the family is able to survive severe heat you folks are suffering through. Your poor Mom having to so quickly adjust to such hot temperatures compared to what she is used to. Are there any air conditioners available in the stores there? Even a window unit would help you all out some, at least in that one room. There was quite a run on them here during our turn at the hot spell but luckily the stores had stocked up. It is now much cooler here thanks to the moderating clouds and cooler temperatures coming from the coast in
  10. I thought you all might like to read the story behind this popular spoof video of Shakira's hit "Hips Don't Lie". Originally done for a Spanish class final by some Hood River (East up the Columbia River Gorge from Portland) Oregon kids, but one little brother put it on the Internet for world to watch. I am singing the dialup blues so haven't been able to watch it. Here is the Oregonian story, wont last long before it lands in paid archives. Hood River crew hip-hops to fame To see the video itself look on this page under More for Wednesday July 26, click on "Clips Don't Lie", again wont be the
  11. Funnyhow we think we know how to do things better than God!!! I always have said that God must have a sense of humor to put up with all our nonsense!!! And that, among so many other reasons, proves He truly loves us, otherwise He would have washed His hands of us long ago!!! Going to show hubby this thread when he gets home...I always did like the dandelions and clover...of course being the opposites we are...he hates them!!! Pat God bless everyone
  12. Bless you for that information!!! I was so annoyed with the ever increasing number and couldn't figure out how to zero it out! Thank You very much for solving that mystery for me. It's the little things like that that seem to bug me the most it seems!!! Pat God bless everyone
  13. It's to bad that our world is still so full of crooks, and worse, that we need to plan ahead for some form of protection, guns, dogs, or stun guns, or whatever. I've said for years that I would like to have a Doberman dog. The ones I have known are gentle loving wonderful dogs, but they do protect a family and are a good deterrent even just by their looks. I have had shelties, collies, german and belgium shepherds over my lifetime, but still wonder if the next one should be a Dobie. Haven't made up our minds yet and it's been several years since our last dog, a sheltie mix, died of old age. T
  14. The Google toolbar has an excellent popup blocker! Way better than the pathetic one that my F-Secure Internet Security Suite has. I haven't had any popups since I turned on the Google one. F-Secure only recognizes about 1 out of 10 or worse, but Google gets them all. I don't know if it is backwards compatible though to older IE version. Will your OS allow you to update your IE? I have Win2000 and have IE 6 something, although not the latest and greatest that comes with XP Sp2 unfortunately, because that one has an ad blocker too I understand, not just a popup blocker. By the way, I really wou
  15. You can't leave anything outside here, or leave your doors/windows unlocked, without someone stealing your stuff with or without you being around. If they want it they will try to take it, with no remorse about stealing!!! Last year someone cut in half and stole the bottom half my brand new coil type 25 foot hose...the end with the sprayer semi-permanently attached to it (not easily removed or transferable to another hose unless you know what you are doing in hose repair) which was connected to the faucet right by my back steps. I have had hand tools stolen over the years, window screens we w
