Dragon: What a great analogy. I knew Norton was a resource hog, as it slowed my computer down a lot (2005 ver). I didn't really understand exactly what it meant by "resource hog" This visual completely explains it. I dumped Norton 2005, and got PC-cillin 2005, and my computer is now faster. Is TrendMicro PC-cillin also considered a resource hog? It is the internet security and antivirus combo. Barb

fubz: I have XP pro sp2, and I have 512mb ram. My understanding is that XP runs better with at least minumum 256mb ram. I see you only have 128mb. Might want to add some more, at least another 128mb. If you are playing games, you might also check your video card. I've read that some games run better on some of these newer video cards. I don't know for sure what you need, as I'm not a gamer. Let one of the gamer gurus here tell you what to get if need be. The ram I would definately add. I would add as much as I could afford and as much as your computer will take, but at least another 128mb. H

Hey Dragon, or anyone, how do you do those thumbnail photos? I can't find out anywhere how to do that. I see them on here all the time, but can't figure out how to do it. I tried upload a photo from Photobucket, using thumbnail image, but not the same. It doesn't look like yours. Barb Well Barb, the trick is simple, It won't work with photobucket supplying the image, it has to be uploaded from your computer's picture folder. If you use photobucket, it's kinda hard to adjust the size of the image because your using a direct link from another website. the img tag in the boards doesn't allow

Take a look at this site for power supply for your Compaq: PC Power Supply I bought one for my Dell, and they are very good. There are other places, but this is the only one I have dealt with. I know Newegg has power supplies, not sure for what computers. You could check there also. Can't help you with your other question, but someone here will come along and help you. Barb

Hi Pat: My ISP provides this as a link on my home page. I like their weather much better than the Weather.com. It will give you alerts about the latest storms coming. As you can see it has thousands of photos people from all the world upload photos dailey. You can do a search for any type of weather photo you like to see. You can search for mountains, water, winter, autumn, sunsets type of pictures and it will show you those. It has a lot of catagories. I can spend an hour on that site looking at different photos.
