Marty, They were all great. Take care, Pat
  2. Congradulations Jeff, I hope it gives you years of trouble free service. Happy motoring! My first car was a 1964 chevelle ragtop w/283 small block chevy engine w/194 heads. I converted it from a powerglide to a 4 speed stick. I guess back then I liked chevy so much because their parts were a lot easier to interchange than ford. (Back then I was a round headlight mechanic) I worked on a lot of cars back then, you were either a chevy, ford,or mopar fan. Back then imports were not much more than tin cans w/4 wheels

  8. Hi Pete, The file was not sync'd for offline use. I only get this message when I try to either try to download a picture (off of webshots for professional pictures for desktop) or download a program for computer. It starts to download, then I get the error message. Webshots has its own photo album for storing pictures. If I turn off the firewall I can download a picture. When I download a program (either freeware or shareware) it always gets put in the programs folder. I can no longer open the file from the download box. I have to go to the program folder and open it up from there. Thanks Pe

  11. Hi Jeff, changed some of the settings as you suggested. It seemed about the same. I tried to download some pics off of webshots, with the firewall off and it worked. I will check program settings . Now to see if I can download an add on or program. I'll keep pluging away at this. Thanks, Pat

  13. IE 7 is the browser. I have not updated the firewall (using same as always ZA pro) using spybot s+d, ad-aware, spyware blaster. I have done a cleanup of temp files. I'm still stumped on this one, If any one has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks, Pat
  14. greetings all, It has been a while since I posted with a problem. This is something that has just recently started to happen. Any time I download a program and try to open it from the download box I get this error. I also get this erroe when I try to download pics from webshots. I have never had this problem before and I am wondering if it has any thing to do with any critical updates for IE. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pat ps forgot to mention i have full admin rights
  15. Who is your mothers ISP? I would check to see if you can pull the mail from their servers. I have comcast cable and I can retrieve mail without opening OE. I could do the same thing when I had dial-up (earthlink) This way you can check to see if the mail is making it to the servers or not, or being stopped by OE. Hope that helped a little. Pat

  19. Thanks TT, I appreciate the input. I cant believe the price of ram. It was kingston not corsair I found for the higher price ram. Dell's price for ram was even higher than Kingston. This is one reason I do not like proprietary machines. thanks, Pat
  20. Greetings all, I have a friend who wants to add more ram to his computer. He has a Dell precision workstation 340 1.7GHZ 512MB PC 800. 400MHz ecc 184 pin(2x256). I know not too many systems use rd ram, and that it must be put in pairs. My question is, is Samsung ram quality or not? I found a kit for $207.00 (2x256) at Memory suppliers.com. I looked around elsewhere and found kingston for $300.00 (geeze). any help in this matter would be appriciated. Thanks, Pat
