hi ive just read your post again and ive had to edit my first post have you tested to see if the onboard is not conflicting with you card take out your card uninstall all display drivers onboard and card then reseat you card and try rebooting you say it goes to stand by disable stand by and un check the option prompt for pass word when compt resumes from stand by, then post back marty

i googled your error notice and all indications point to a driver problem try uninstalling the video driver reboot then go to device manager and up date the video driver a notice will appear in you tray if your sys has found new hardware marty

me to i saw some thing like that at techtv c.f.h but it involved just windows icons marty

ive just been to my bios and like yours my agp slot has been alloted 64mgs of ram for a os2 and cant be changed in my bios the settings are enable or disable may be your bios has advanced settings i couldnt find any in mine the agp slot is normally the video card that is what your mobo is set at as i cant confirm this it may pay to wait until some one who is a tech expert to confirm this marty

thanks JD that happened to me at first i thought it was some thing ide done wrong then all o f a sudden it came right before going into the site i scanned the program with avast and spybot and hi-jack this and they came up clean spybot and hijack this i have on a bart pe ultimate boot disk i didnt want to post it unless it was bug free so ime puzzled as to what happened im off the the local message board and find out were it came from ile post later marty

hi fubz have you checked for virus/ perhaps the sasser or blaster worm did you change your ram or hdd settings? at all and those hardware drivers that is an area were you get a restart it happened to me and when i went and unchecked that automatic restart box it gave me a blue screen tho mine was hard ware trouble and it involved the hdd pin in the wrong setting good luck marty

i agree with Bubba Bob ms config has been the bug bear of new users for a long time in help and support it tells you not to use it, unless you know what your doing many times the reason for restarting is a hardware conflict or an error with in the sys if the poster has installed hardware recently try and up date the drivers video driver is a culprit marty

hi all a word of warning i went to g4 to try another browser there was this scumbag called phase out http://www.phaseout.net/ and it is full of s----t 46 tracking cookies 44 mrus and some toolbar called excell im not sure why g4 will allow this sort of s---- just as well i know how to get rid of all this stuff but a novice will get caught so keep an eye out for this rubbish bag i found it in the software section marty
