  4. Hi martymas, here is what i have picked up doing HJT logs at MWR and WTT and other sites around. Avg has been known to report some false positive but so does others also. I use Avast which has been great for me along with hiding behind a router. Which is the best protection available. Malwarebytes is a super program for scanning your computer, i use mine about 2 times a week. But its not an Antivirus its a scanner, thats the free version, i cant speak for the paid version. Ok, enough from me. You Stay Safe over there from the fires Marty !! Chuck
  5. Today i learned that our governor (Wyoming) wants our retirement system to hire 5 new employees to help run our retirement system, but not to pay more than 2 Million in salaries. Lets see thats about $400,000 per employee per year. You gotta love the goverment at work !!! Chuck
  6. Yes, i agree. lets make all drugs legal. Lets not care if the teens use it. Lets not care if the babies whose moms were users cry all night. Lets not care if users are so high they rob and kill. Lets not care if society goes to hell. Free drugs for all ! And i have seen it all, even had a daughter who used Meth amongst other drugs (clean 14yrs now) You try holding a 13 yr old girl in your arms while she dies from an over dose and let me hear you say Legalize Drugs. Chuck
  7. Hey, is this a special day my friend. Happy Birthday !!!!!!!!!!!! Chuck
  8. Hey guys, as most of you know was a Drug agent for 23 yrs. I have seen way to many kids, i am talking 10 yrs and up on pot. Most said it made them brave and fearless. I am afraid if its legal there would be more on it. Just take a little from mom or dads medicine cabinet. Thats my 2 cents. Chuck
  9. Hey guys, thought this would give you a chuckle. The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the surrogate father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife and said, "I'm off. The man should be here soon" Half an hour later, just by chance a door-to-door baby photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. "Good morning, madam. I've come to...." "Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you," Mrs. Smith cut in. "Really?" the photographer asked. "Well, good. I've made a speciality of babies" "That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat" After a moment, she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?" "Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. Sometimes the living room floor is fun too; you can really spread out!" "Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work for Harry and me" "Well, madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But, if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven different angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results" "My, that's a lot of....." gasped Mrs. Smith. "Madam, in my line of work, a man must take his time. I'd love to be in and out in five minutes, but you'd be disappointed with that, I'm sure" "Don't I know it," Mrs. Smith said quietly. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. "This was done on the top of a bus in downtown London" "Oh my God!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, tugging at her handkerchief. "And these twins turned out exceptionally well, when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with" "She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith. "Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to Hyde Park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep, pushing to get a good look" "Four and five deep?" asked Mrs. Smith, eyes widened in amazement. "Yes," the photographer said, "And for more than three hours too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling. I could hardly concentrate. Then darkness approached and I began to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just packed it all in." Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "You mean squirrels actually chewed on your, um......equipment?" "That's right. Well, madam, if you're ready, I'll set up my tripod so we can get to work." "Tripod?????" "Oh yes, I have to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big for me to hold for very long. Madam? Madam? ....... Good Lord, she's fainted!!" Chuck
  10. Hi Liz, all threw with HJT school, now just waiting to be cleared so i can do logs anywhere other than the forums connected with the University, there is a lot that i can post to. It was hard and very demanding, people who think its easy should just try it. I intend to do logs here as soon as i am cleared. Later friend Chuck
  11. Hi Liz, i just came from there and looked at all my stored photos and all went well here. No one has posted any warnings at any of my forums that i work HJT logs. So don't know what that is all about i'll do some more checking and if something pops up ill get back here to post it. Chuck
  12. Hey, gotta love this guy. John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA ) After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia ) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA . 22. Hi guys, some sad news in the world of Tech support. Reported by AndyAtHull. Greetings Folks, You have arrived at the CastleCops website, which is currently offline. It has been our pleasure to investigate online crime and volunteer with our virtual family to assist with your computer needs and make the Internet a safer place. Unfortunately, all things come to an end. Keep up the good fight folks, for the spirit of this community lies within each of us. We are empowered to improve the safety and security of the Internet in our own way. Let us feel blessed for the impact we made and the relationships created. With respect to the server marathon, by March 17 2009 CastleCops will refund contributions made through PayPal that were specifically designated for servers. Unfortunately, server donations made via check cannot be returned because we do not have the addresses for the donating entity. Unless instructed otherwise, CastleCops will re-allocate these funds as a donation to the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC.org). This organization sponsored our hosting environment for approximately the past 2 years. Please contact us cc at laudanski dot com before March 17, 2009, if you would like a return of your server marathon donation. Otherwise, we would like to thank the ISC for their unfettered support. We thank everyone in creating our unique footprint and memories in time. Love, Best Wishes and Happy Holidays, CastleCops PST 23 Dec 2008 Chuck
  23. Hey, just gonna throw in my 2 cents here. Jeff is correct about MBAM. At MWR and most HJT Universities the first thing we do is have user run the MBAM because it does a great job on a lot of baddies, then we use what other program that is appropiate to clean the infection. I would highly recommend everyone get it. Later Chuck
  24. Hey guys, i would sure like to see scissorhands7 post this on a bunch of the HJT sites that clean comps of Malware. Sure would make for some interesting reading ! Any for what its worth, i agree with Pete !!!!! Chuck
  25. Hi Pete, yes i change where it asks how many copies, i click 1 but when it starts coping the page it will give me 3 copies and when i go back to the how many copies it has changed to 3 by itself ! So i am ready to give this the toss, but i'll try your suggestion of uninstall and reinstall as soon as i get time. Thanks friend ! Chuck So, when you print from a computer it does things correctly; but when you do a copy from the machine you get to many? Have you tried redoing the setup on the machine? You know, where you configure the fax number etc?
