This is where you got most of this junk & will continue to get infection in the future using them. I recommend getting rid of them immediately !! Some Malware help sites will not clean the computer unless it is removed. My thing is i warn you this time but if you come back again re-infected it will not be cleaned unless you remove them ! So with that said either remove the P2P programs or refrain from using them till we are done !! Let me kn

  12. Dan, rem that Refurbished is a term that is used to describe older, defective or used computers or other electronic devices that have been restored to like-new condition. When a device is refurbished, parts that aren't working properly are replaced and the unit is cleaned. Like buying a used car, you are taking the chance they will last ! GOOD luck !!
  13. That would be my choice also Jim (Heavy) ! Yes, please let us know how things work out for you, then if someone else has the same problem they will find your solution helpful !!!!! Thanks Chuck
  14. Hi Heavy, well i take it you want to clean all the junk they left in it ?? We can do this the long way of running a bunch of tools/programs or we can make it like it came from the factory, by "restore to factory sttings" ?? Which is the easiest way ! When you turn it on start tapping both keys ALT+F10 simultaneously. (at the same time) You can start the Recovery from outside windows by holding down the ALT key and tapping F10 repeatedly on startup. When the recovery loads you will be prompted for a password. This should have been set by the customer if they have been into the Acer Recove
  15. I would try the restore to factory settings that i posted if your thinking of changing the hard drive !! Here is the standard Acer Recovery Instructions 1. Power on the machine 2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt†key and press the “F10†key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery 3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings†4. Click “OK†to continue 5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes). 6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK†t
  16. Assmar, thanks for that info ! The FBI virus is a tough one to remove, some have not had much luck removing this from their computers & have had to just restore it to factory conditions. Which user will loose all data & pics !! In case you have to go that route heres a link for doing that ! >>> http://en.kioskea.net/faq/2040-acer-pc-restore-to-factory-settings That is the easiest route & the one i usually recommend !!! Now if you want to try & removing it i will help with all the notes i have & talking to other Malware helpers !! These are very complicated remova

Keep us informed on your progress so it may help others !! Thanks Chuck

Some models may require a supplied recovery disc be inserted at this point. Just follow prompts !! Worth a
