  3. Cool. Is that just for Gentoo/BSD? Would it be released too for Ubuntu via apt-get? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More then likely, this won't be in ubuntu repos until after breezy is released, last I knew the latest version of FF hasn't even been put in the repos yet. But we will soon see, after all Breezy is almost done with its beta, and they are still asking people to not d/l and install it unless they are helping find the bugs it has.

  9. one thing about Linux you need to be aware of is it somewhat lacks in the software department. don't get me wrong, I use Linux for my business, it has great support in a business environment, but as far as gaming goes, there isn't much there. as far as I am concerned its a great desktop environment, its just as stable as Win XP, only without the huge patching needed every month. Granted the Kernel updates happen occasionally, but that only makes it more stable IMO. also its a little more secure then Windows, only because it doesn't have as many viruses or malware programs out for it because i
  10. Actually your log is pretty clean, you have a few entries that need to be taken care of though. You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure. Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible. Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked. R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-

Second off, how can McDonalds be responsible for her spilling her cup of coffee on herself when a) she took the lid off the cup instead of using the drinking slit b)she was trying to talk on the cell phone at the same time c)She hit the car in front of her to me that was a case that she was just an accident waiting for a place to happen.

  17. ok first question. I recently updaetd my kernel, but now I have apps that don't want to work in Ubuntu. using kernel 2.6.10-5-386 currently since that was installed, some of my apps aren't working properly like Blender 3d modeller and some other Linux based programs.I was going to try and reset the menu.lst file back to the original setting, but the upgrade didn't make a backup so I have no menu.lst~ file. I'm not sure if I still have the original kernel on my HDD to get the version to set in my Grub. Second question. I need to do dmesg for a bugzilla report, but I'm not sure how to properly r

well it seems that I may be looking for another distro. wiht my Ubuntu I can hear sounds on the web, and play cd's or watch movies, but my system sounds dont' work. what a bummer, done everything I can try with it. no good, tried alsa and OSS, neither recognized my sound card properly for system sounds. been like this for a couple of months and it finally got to me, i hate the silence. plus it screws up my system when some when gaming. espcially when playing a game where the sound is a good sign of trouble lol. Appearantly ubuntu doesn't like my onboard sound card, and I don't have the funds t

  23. hello and welcome to Besttechie.net as stated before this is a holiday weekend in the states so things are a little busy as we are all volunteers here. your log is pretty much clean there are two files i have included that are spyware, but not a cause for your crashing issues.I am also going to list below for Hijack this removal resource hogs, once those are gone that will clear up more of your memory issues. First off, just so you know, once a Harddrive starts getting to the point of almost being full you will run into these issues. the reason is because anytime you are browsing your drives,
