if you have time do this.. open a Termianl as root (or sudo what ever ubuntu does) and do tcpdump -v /dev/eth0 then open another teminal and do the dhcpd /dev/eth0 and post the output of the tcpdump... I had this same problem, adn it turned out to be my MAC address. They did not have my MAC in there system.. I guessing that you are dual booting.. so that may not be so.. (I always put a router betwen me and the ISP now.. so they have my routers MAC.. and I server my own DHCP.. using Monowall (using this http://www.soekris.com/net4501.htm board) hope this gives you some ideals.. thanks Iccaro

Thacky, please please check to make sure that what you post is in a family matter. This is the second time I had to remove that one segment of the picture that you downloaded and can't seem to remove. thanks

not completely true. It could be something on the recipients end such as a mailbox that is close to full. then it will delay it until the mail is checked. after a certain amount of time, it is bounced back to the sender.

Crucial has a ram identification system that queries your computer to get the info.

I know for my dsl I can only use the one provider. It's a contractual agreement between my phone co. and the ISP. which is fine by me. my ISP is locally owned, and I dont' have to jump through 300 questions just to talk to a live person
-
I contacted the local phone company, they are my go between to the ISP. come to find out they had a 40 port blade blow last week. after it was replace not all configurations were reset, so they are working on it. they figure I should be back to what I was before by the end of next week.
-
I asked them about that, nothing changed on the ISP end. yes, it just stopped working about a week ago, been on the fiber optics for about 4 months now.

just uses a standard cat5 cable from the computer to the dataport. we have a transformer box on the back of the house, changes the fiber over to standard phone line wire.

Problems With Php Shopping Cart Working With Ssl On Unix
Dragon replied to silk's topic in Linux & Unix
it appears to be something directly associated with the PHP itself on the page. can you make an attachment of the php file that is loaded on your server. using the browser's view source only shows html, not the actual PHP script tied to it. -
ok, used one of my LiveCD from Ubuntu. no problems other then no Interent connection. I did a demsg and of course got the nice long report of everything. I specifically looked for anything dealing with eth0 and this is what I found. eth0: no IPv6 routers present could it be that I need to disable IPv6 to get my internet connection back? also I think I figured out how to fix my mouse problem. it is trying to make the mouse a generic mouse. I'll work on that later, first I need to get my internet connection back. Like I said before no modem/router between my computer and the data port since we w

ok, I'll try that, let you know what happens

hopefully one of our many Linux gurus can help me out here. I go to start Ubuntu, and it hangs at bootup while trying to contact the host for DHCP. I thought maybe my iptables were screwed up and I was ready to reinstall so I tried to do that, but then i get "cannot contact DHCP host". with our new fiber optics setup there is no router or modem used, direct connection from computer to data port, which then connects to the firewall/router at the phone company. I contacted my ISP and they said that since I can hook up with Windows I should be able to hook up with Ubuntu. this all started about

it can, I use it to make VCD since i don't have a dvd rw. and when I do that with more then one file it asks if I want a menu, title etc....

here is a website that specializes in that. even tells you how to set things up. http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1635 if your wanting professional type dvd's that are home made, then be prepared to but out some money for the software. it isn't cheap adn as far as I know there are no free versions. even the trial versions are going to be extremely limited or place watermarks on your videos.

Say wha? I think he missed the part that mentions satellite companies no longer use phone lines for anything. Years ago, when sattelite first became avialable in home use, they used phone lines. At that time they didnt' even offer internet connection AFIK. Now they use the satellite signals for everything, including downloading the billing info for any PPV movies.

if nothing else you can try an online scan at http://www.moosoft.com

I'm presuming from what you are saying, you can't cahnge the boot order so that it boots from the CD rom first? how old and what type of computer is it. Are you wanting to dual boot or just use Linux as the only OS?

Download and run the Free Trial of Trojan Hunter at http://www.misec.net/products/TrojanHunter.exe first. Next, take a free Online Virus scan at http://www.housecall.trendmicro.com or http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx. After this, Reboot Anitvirus programs aren't designed to remove trojans very well, and Symantec is really bad at trying to do anything to remove them. Thats why it's always a good idea to have a separate anti-trojan program on a computer.

depends on the year of the vehicle. if it is a newer model (99-present) it has a connection point right under the steering wheel or under the dash on the passengers side, depending on car manufacturer, anyway those take about 10 seconds to hook up and 2 minutes for the comp to download the info from the brainbox. Older models usually have the connectors under the hood of the car and once again take about 10-20 seconds to hook up, once found, and about 2 minutes to diagnose it. You need to remember, they charge a flat fee rate based on books created by the manufacturer specs. so even for a 5 mi

no I didn't do that, because the wife yells at me if she can't use her hotmail.
