sry tenmm I'm at school right now i can't look at those links and why do people here keep making fun of my small, light, fuel effecient, fun to drive, reliable, 5-speed, sound thumpin, fast, and loud ( but not that crappy beehive sound most tuners give, mine gives a deep menacing growl) 95 Honda Civic EX with VTEC tuning
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
with gas like it is I would never make fun of a four banger.

Very nice

Congrates on the baptism and thanks for reminding me I've got ten gallons of used oil in my garage that needs to go. Now I know O'Reily's takes it and I don't have to go to the funny farm (AutoZone) I'll get on it.
O'Reily's is even closer by 2 miles.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Whats your beef with Auto Zone?
Mine is they dont have enough employees working to assist the customers. Unlike Oreily's.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Mine is:
1. Not enough knowledgable employees
2. I have yet to get the right part the first time
3. If they have the right part it is out of stock
example:
went to get brakes for my 2001 camry there I shopped the web to see if my location had them instock yes they do. I get there they don't they sell me More expesive one s (no big deal) they don't fit. Why because I have Carbon Metalic brakes They are bigger there system does not state this. I was foolish for not looking.
I asked for rotors Cheap ones because I never turn mine I alway replace. They don't have them in stock (guess what the computer says?).
Long story short. I leave go to O'Riely's they have everything instock. The manager says since I replace mine so much (twice a year because of mileage I run a paper route in the sticks) they would make it a point to keep them in stock.

Somebody needs to lock this thread and trash it every time I see I go make a pot of Coffee I'm geeking and I can't sleep, and since caffeine is a diuretic I'm whizzing like a Horse with a bad prostate.

I'm going to get a cup of coffee

I would be out on the deck but my wife fried the laptop. I was I was going to fix it but it is under warranty so HP is sending FEDEX to get it. I have long Hated Compaq and HP but I have nothing but good things to say now. first they give you a actual copy of XP sp2 (not ghost and a hidden partition). Great customer service. I emailed them At 5:30 am at 5:50 I had a responce not including the auto response.
Buy 6:15am they confirmed what I knew and that it was under warranty. 8:00 am I got a phone call to arrange a time for FEDEX to come by and pick it up. We'll see how the rest goes.
Man I get chatty at bedtime (now you see my delima I drink coffee in the morning but I'm a child of the night I gave up day walking years ago).
Cheers (eew!! to much sugar)

oOo that Victrola is classy.Â
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Indeed! I've always wanted one.
And if you REALLY want to go back, there are also the Gramophones that played Wax cylinder records.
Ah.... the old days.
They were a bit scratchy though!

Is Joe Williams on the ommited list?
I'm sure he is,.... you are a connoisseur!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sorry I had to duck out to run my paper route.
Joe Williams (more of the Big Band Era toward the end)
The answer is yes I have some stuff featuring Count Bassie (funny I don't really have any Count Bassie by Himself
I also have:
Louis Jordan
Ruth Brown
Big Joe Turner
and Billy Eckstine
I have so much archived on disk It would take me awhile to dig though to get a complete list but you name it I may have it or can get my hands on it. (lots of older friends with Vinyl and they pay me to transfer to disc)

Hey Preston.
I LOVE your vocal and jazz list!!!!!!!!!
Joe
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You know what can I say (he blows breath on nails and polishes on T-shirt)
I have more but I could not think of them at this point.
My Jazz and Jazz vocal Are the recorded at the highest Bitrate because I enjoy it that much. Nora Jones was hard to classify so I dropped her there.

You will need to DL the LAME.dll and drop it in the program file for audacity then when it asks for it show it where to find it, it won't ask again.
LAME encoder Here:
http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/audacity/lame.html
I don't use audacity I use MP3 DirectCut have for years now:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mp3directcut.html
I do have Audacity and it is a great program but for shear speed MP3 DirectCut is the winner because of the keyboard controls.

I have seen a number of post of people wanting to build there own PC but don't know where to start so here is or shance to show off our shopping skills.
in these areas:
Basic Desktop (budget: machine internet/ email checker some multimedia functionality lite office work/ homework machine)
Workstation (mid-level/ super spreadsheet machine/ compiling, data cruntching light to mid graphic editing)
Gaming (mid to highend/ high FPS, Bling {just one bling}, graphics editing/ video)
Multi-Media Monster (high end. Can do almost anything)
Goal is to build on paper inxpensively but not cheap. I must admit this is as much for me as it is for other. I have not done this when I build I am surrounded but small computer stores and many are run by friends so I dicuss and buy local. But I always feel like I may have been sold short. Someone if you could help me with setting the Price ranges because I would I think it would be more fun to have a budget.
This could have a potential to be a on going thing since sales closeouts new products constantly change come out frequently. Feel free to help me define the parameters of this build off.
it would be great for those who want to build their own to come here for a shopping list. in there price range.

If it is a stupid idea just send me a cyber slap.

Easy, I am NOT a Christian but I am a religous person. Not to get Preston going but most of the world are NOT Christians. So the name speaks for itself......

What Are The Benefits Of Linux?
in Linux & Unix
Posted
Yes you can duel boot XP and Linux it will not be at the Bios screen but from the bootloader LILO Or Grub which you flavor of linux will install. usually giving you 15sec to choose which you want before contiuing with the default.
I have no problems saying anything you can do in windows you can do with Linux.
I use Xandros desktop and if it were not for MusicMatch on demand I would never use windows.
