your talking about massively slowing down games cause of the higher resoultion. Also many games don't particulaly like widescreen. CS 1.6 shouldn't be hurt too much by the higher resolution but with that video card it could be hurt. Shoot at 1024x768 with full quality smoke on a 5700 Ultra it slowed down. (that was in CS:CZ)

I have known that source games don't perform well in SLI but there is supposed to be a way to make them perform better. Well using the Counter-Strike: Source Visual Stress test in single GPU mode I scored 129 FPS average with the setting I had. In SLI with Alternate Frame Rendering 2 I got 113. Well supposedly AFR2 is supposed to increase your score. It had no affect on mine. I've tried a load of fixes which include changing the gloabl settings and the individual Source game settings in the nVidia console. Well nothing. I can really see what you mean there cause I love Queensryche's 2 Operation: Mindcrime albums. One of the biggest reasons why I don't give a crap about artists views nwo is cause most of the crap I listen too is either from before the 90's or the band is from another country. Queensryche and Rush are still around and recording but Rush is Canadian and none of the younger generation even know what the hell Queensryche is. SO their views aren't even heard. Was it some cheap no name brnad stick? Maybe you got what ya paid for. I got kinda screwed with some PC 133 RAM a while back. It wasn't ever detected as PC133 and in one computer it was detected as 128MB (it was a 256 Stick). That was the last time I bought memory from eBay. It was cheapo Viking value RAM. I actually bought a stick from a friend for like half what I paid for it and I don't remember any brandings on it. All I know is it worked corretly. I quit buying stuff like that from eBay. Last thing I bought was an FX 5700 Ultra video card. It worked fine until I monkeyed with it. Curiosit

try the stick in another computer and see if it works first. If it doesn't then it's just a bad stick. I don't really see why that computer wouldn't use 1GB sticks. If you absolutlety need 2 512MB sticks I have a pair that are PC3200. Only problems are that one for some reason was detected as PC2700 in my new nForce4 SLI x16 board the few times it actually booted and I'm still using both of them in my PC2100 limited Compaq.
