Allrighty, recently my computer has been dragging around a little and I beleive WinFixer to be the culprit. Half of the websites I access pull up a fake Windows error in a Microsoft Internet Explorer box saying I have spyware blah blah blah As of now I have used the following but have been unsuccessful McAffee Privacy Guardian (To clear Internet files) Ad-Aware SpySweeper and all are of to no avail, if someone could help it would just be stupendous!

shouldn't screw it up but I doubt it'll help your situation

REMEMBER!!! Install it with the computer turned off and unplugged, just something alot of people might not assume.

240 propabably isn't enough juice -
I don't think iTunes gives any choices as far as fading. Are you referring to the "Party Shuffle" cause that got on my nerves too

"college Major" Computer Question
xxkbxx replied to xxkbxx's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Lemme see, he self identified as an "IT Guy", so I would hope Joran wouldn't be interested. Crime is actually very low in Aruba. I live around DC, Aruba is a cake walk compared to here. The cost of living is low, and you have a great influx of interesting people. Sure there are bad elements, but I guarantee there are more killers in a few square blocks of any major US city than on the whole island. And mark my words, they will convict the kid regardless of his guilt. They have too much to loose. I just pray they find her, so they can put her to rest. BH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> W -
As-is equals big turnoff to buyers - especially on a computer

You want a quick shutdown? Here's a great tip: Keep your power strip at hand or foot - and whenever you want to shut down flip the red switch off. I guarentee you won't lose ANY DATA, or wear down your hardware Please - don't actually do this - if you do I'm going to send Tommy over to hit you in the head with a tack hammer because you're a freakin moron

Everyone thanks for the input I agree with 4GB being quite a lot, I think I will just go with high quality 2GBs instead I'll have to think about what I want to do for the hard drive, I might just take one Raptor for OS and Games and the other for videos, music, and pictures I shoud have added at the top that I planned on using the computer for Video Editing, Photo Editing, Publishing (Meaning I will have Photoshop CS, Adobe Pagemaker/Indesign, and Imageready open at the same time - along with some Music and probably AIM) Two more questions - should I go XP Pro Regular or 64x? and what graphics

I am in the process right now of trying to find a college to apply to over the next two years, but first I am having a little trouble choosing a major. I intend on finding a job as "an IT guy" at a company and I am a little confused in picking a major. With the little research I have done (google) "computer science" sounds close, but I don't really want a job writing computer coding. If anyone has a remote idea of what I am saying help me PLEASE! (I won't be able to reply because I've got to go off to work now)

i've got my wireless network open to the public - ha ha, if the public wants to drive out by the farm
-
True, but hard drive failure is less common today then it was in the past. However, I could always hook up a cheap 40g ATA drive for backups since I don't feel like investing in two more raptors for a RAID 0+1 Config
-
To find out it would be even easier to check by simple addition/subtraction What was your original drive size? If it is still the same capacity it's a new drive I have a hunch though cause 36.6gbs sounds alot like 40gbs
-
I suggest you grab a different one. From this list Without looking, I would guess it has better timings and is probably tested for higher overclock speeds. Also, links would be nice. Also, RAID 0 is rarely a good idea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? What's wrong with data striping?
-
true after years of tedious planning
-
through the magic of wizardry! actually, he just hooked up a 40g drive onto the IDE ribbon cable and to the power supply
-
Yeah, I just grabbed one of the power supplies on the front page for deal since I didnt feel like looking Normally I look at OCZ memory, just out of curiousity what makes Platinum so much better (outside of the really shiny heatspreadder) And the main reason I ever wanted to build a computer (something I've wanted to do as soon as I got intersested in computers) was to have an awesome case!

Stupid SIMS disc did the exact thing to me

Yeah, I remember when I set up accounts for the family on Windows 95, I wish I could have learned how to get rid of the darn things

Here we go, let me know what you think about my $2000 budget. There is a large chance that I forgot something major because I made this on the fly- Just for notes, i was planning on putting the raptors in a RAID 0 Configuration CD/DVD Burners (RW Drives) Update SAMSUNG Black IDE DVD Burner Model TS-H552U/BEBN BLK - OEM 2 x $39.99 $79.98 ATX Computer Cases Update ThermalRock Eclipse RH-M040-2AW Silver Aluminum 0.8mm (Chassis) Aluminum (Front Panel) ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail $115.00 $115.00 Internal Hard Drives Update Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM Seri

I cherished msconfig the day I learned it

My Gateway PC came originally with a PIII and 128 MB of RAM. After making the change from ME to XP and installing McAfee, it took about ten minutes to boot up. Not I've still got the same 833MHZ CPU but 3 x 128 RAM (384 MB) and it runs decently so I can't see how someone could do it with 64MB of RAM

From what I heard most of today's games don't fully take advantage of dual core yet. On Attack Of The Shows Ultimate Game Machine they used a high end AMD 64 FX (of course there's was $1000)
