  1. Sultan was always known as a guy who could find really good links, and he always seemed to be a good guy - It is unfortunate to lose a good friend, for whatever reason it happens, God has a plan for each of us. I think back to 04-05 when I started here, and over the years, things change, but we always seem to have fond memories of our friends - wherever they are, they are watching over us. BT is a FAMILY, and I am [rpud to be a member - We miss you bud!! RIP Brian
  2. Novi: I have not stopped in for a long spell either - This news is sad, and Don WAS a good guy to all of us!! Brian
  3. Good Morning -- I am also saddened by this news. When I was in Malware Removal Training back in 2007 or so, Don was also working with that. Because of other commitments He left Training. I also stayed on until other commitments forced me to give up the training. Don was a good friend and a hard working kind of guy. He always seemed to handle any situation with class and style, and as far as I know, never complained about his health issues, and never missed an opportunity to teach users about life and Technology. I found Don to be a guy that I trusted and respected because he told i
  4. Good Morning Team: I have been using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit for about 3-4 months. I have also installed Internet Information Services Manager (IIS) Version 10.0. I will tell you a little story: Many of you know from my postings from about 2011 forward that I was working on my Linux Server (Debian 5.0 - Lenny) for a LONG while, setting up web and shell based services. In July of 2013, the server went down for the last time, and has not been connected to the Internet or the Intranet since. I have renewed BBUS's Domain for 2016, and would like to continue to serve a page to people.
  5. NICE!!! and I just UPGRADED BRIAN-PC to Windows 10 PRO 64 - Now I have Techno 21 and BRIAN-PC running the same OS Brian

  7. Chuck - Thanks for that Information - Will Have to check it out Brian
  8. Hello All: Also, there may be drivers or programs that are not compatible NOW, but as Win 10 starts rolling out, they may add drivers for Win 10 that are not available now. I have a unique dilemma that my roomie and I are trying to solve. He is running Windows Vista, and I am not sure whether windows 7 or 10 will RUN on his machine, which is a Dell Inspiron 537 Desktop. I would WAIT - Its NOT urgent that people go right to 10 - but for those running older computers like my roomie, he will have to either upgrade his desktop or go to his laptop, which is running windows 7 - 8/8.1 and 10 M
  9. Hang in there TT - I also have been having problems with my neck, Back, shoulders, and head, because of my posture - I am in PT now to help with this, and I feel better each time I go - My back has been cracking each time too hehehhe Take Care Brian
  10. You can, and probably SHOULD wait to download Win 10 - The reason is due to the fact that we are all running at LEAST Windows 7, and it is not really known whether drivers for some of devices that are running on win 7 will be compatible with it. Additionally, there may be some drivers that may not be compatible with 7 or 8.1, and even now, with my 8.1 laptop, there are devices that appear to be non-compatible, because it will say that something appears to be incompatible. Add the fact that Windows 10 will REMOVE specific functions as well: Such as Media Center, Windows Media Player, and t
  11. Good Morning Everyone: I have been a Windows user for a long time, Prior to that, I had Dos, and Apple II Computers. I recently updated my laptop to a Windows 8.1 machine. We all know that there is a way to access safemode from Windows 7 machines. However, Windows 8 machines have a crazy way to access safe mode - you can't just tap 'f8' anymore - there is a much harder way to get to the boot menu and safemode with Windows 8/8.1. I am going to show you how to put the 'f8' key function back for Windows 8/8.1 machines. FIRST STEP: ACCESS YOUR COMMAND PROMPT 1. Press Windows Key +S -
  12. I have heard that Windows 10 may go the way of the Subscription, even though the article that Chuck posted says that Windows 10 will be free to those who have Windows 8/8.1 - I wish that the program would be FREE and the updates - Paying for the use of the software every year can be a financial burden to those who have limited incomes (Like me) Buying windows PRO/ULTIMATE is not cheap, but windows 10 should be affordable, and you should be able to buy it and have a license that does NOT need to be renewed, because you bought the software ONCE - this is what they should do Brian

  14. Hello Team: I don't care WHAT OS is out - the BEST thing to do is to wait for the "bugs" to get worked out of any OS - If you don't, you risk the loss of data, or a borked up machine - Look at ME and Vista - The 2 worst OS's around - Should have just skipped them....... Brian
  15. Chuck: Thank You for your advice - will take it into serious consideration - It's been a while since I was actually doing Malware Removal Training at Geeks to Go, and I had to leave because of personal issues, but wanted to make sure that I had my facts right..........This New PC is the BEST I have owned to DATE - with 6GB and a TON of Hard Drive Space, and a LARGE Monitor, I should be all set ;D Thank You, My friend, for all your help - also to the others who have helped me as well: Will keep you advised as I continue to work with my new PC ;D Brian
  16. Chuck: Thanks for the quick response! Still have to load things on this one, but MAN she is sleek and FAST!!! Brian
  17. Chuck: I have a couple of questions: 1. If I have MBAM Premium, I KNOW that is an Antispyware application, and should not run along side AVAST 2015, but should I also DISABLE MS Security Essentils? This thing had MSSE when I turned her on, and I am thinking of just running ONE or the other, but not sure if MBAM Premium can handle the AV portion, but she CAN stop you from running to harmful sites and stop malicious programs. 2. What would you recommend I do for protection? I will take all suggestions I can get on this one, as I want to make sure I am not having any problems. I am lea
  18. Good Evening Everyone! My New PC arrived yesterday afternoon, and she is a DELL Studio XPS 435 MT - She was running Vista Ultimate, and I was LUCKY, because my cousin reloaded the whole OS, and then ran the Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit) Install for me - I was happy to find the 7 Ultimate upgrade package in my new box. so, I am fully legal on my new PC, and I also took the unprecedented step of upgrading all the way to MBAM Premium, so that I will be protected from a bunch of threats online, and also running avast as well. The Monitor is a Dell Model 2408wfpb - so now, I am using a 24 inch mo

  21. Hello Whitewolf: Brian here: Instead of trying to install Windows 10 from install media on a partition, try running a windows 10 Virtual Machine on Windows 8.1. (http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/10/02/step-by-step-creating-and-running-a-windows-10-vm-on-windows-8-1.aspx) (This will make it so that if there is a problem with the install, running it in a VM will make it easier to remove Windows 10 - If you install it to a partition, you may foul up windows 8, or whatever primary OS you are running - a VM, in my opinion is a safer bet) Good Luck! Brian
  22. Good Morning Everyone: I have just been offered a newer Dell Desktop PC from my cousin, which I accepted last weekend. I will receive it sometime during the Thanksgiving Holiday. It has 2 500 GB Hard Drives (I believe SSD's, Not sure though) It also has original disks for Windows Vista - I want to UPGRADE that to 7 Pro when the machine lands here. My cousin will replace the current Hard Drives with 2 BRAND NEW 500 GB Drives, and I will have all of the drivers and whatever I need, BUT: Since I do not own multiple Win7 Product codes for more then the number of machines I own, I am wonder
  23. Pete: Thanks again My Friend, I will Look Into this the next time I am in the Building - I would have to be in the building to see if this would work, but At LEAST it sounds like there may be a workaround for these issues. As Said Before, I am hesitant to install an XP Virtual Machine because there are NO UPDATES, and because we have 2 webservers connected to the network in our basement - I will look into this and inform my family of this information. BT **IS** The BEST!!!!!! Brian
