My ex-wife is allergic to alcohol, but luckily it's only a mild allergy. Anytime she'd be drinking she would turn deep red like she was highly embarassed about something...but that was the extent of the allergy - just an extremely flushed face. Still, she didn't drink often...poor thing - worked for me...we always had a designated driver when we went out! hehehe....

Good to see you here Sultan - it's so strange seeing your name on a post but not seeing your little kitty kat avatar. LOL... Were you afraid if you brought it in here it might get marsh by the head again? Looking forward to future discussions!

The Besttechie Chat Room
WiredMonkey replied to Besttechie's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Would love to jump on this during the day, but alas, I have a feeling I'd end up in big troubles....my work doesn't like me going to non-tech sites, and I have a feeling it's gonna include chatting, even though it may BE about tech. LOL...will have to jump on in the evening sometime. Tonight, however, I have a baseball game to be at...go Rangers! -
Happy Belated Birthdays, guys...sorry I didn't say it before, but this weekend was a wash for me in terms of getting online...hehehe...hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

I'm a copy-and-paste fool, so I have a feeling I'm going to be loving this program. Thanks for the tip WhiteWolf4 - I'll play with it for a while...

Yahoo Toolbar With Anti-spy
WiredMonkey replied to WiredMonkey's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I agree. I use Firefox all the time as well. But, my boss wants this tested and wants to put it on machines in the companies we support, I guess, so that there will be some level of anti-spyware. I've told him there are other programs that do the job better, but I think he's got an itch for this program that needs to be scratched. -
Has anyone used the new Yahoo toolbar with Anti-Spy? I'm not sure how long it has been in release, but I haven't heard a lot about it. It's located here if anyone wants to check it out as well. To run Yahoo! Toolbar you will need: * Microsoft Windows operating system. (95, 98, ME, 2000, XP) * Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. My boss wants me to test it out and evaluate it and I'd like to give him a really thorough report, including those of others that have used it and the successes/failures they've had with it. I'm pretty skeptical going in, but maybe it'll turn out oka

In mine, they moved the message again...it's almost like a banner type of notification now, located just above the inbox when you go into Gmail. It should be there...it's a deep blue color. Let us know if you find it there...I was going to mention the move, but I figured I'd hold off...guess I shoulda said something earlier

I agree olmec36 - the important thing is that it's reaching everyone. No problem tg1911. Happy to help when I can.

Just imagine if an espresso mod was in the works, you would be bouncing off the walls. Or for il wiccan a small distillery, for some sour mash. That is certainly not the exclusive territory of il_wiccan! LOL... Just give me some of that sweet nectar and watch me get wired on it! Woo hoo!! Besides, Jack mixes pretty well with coffee....nice little sweetener.

YES! That is precisely what this Not-so WiredMonkey needs this morning!! Good ol' Wake-Up Juice.

Just noticed after posting and going through that it had already been posted - missed it when I scanned the first time. So, sorry olmec36 - didn't mean to repeat the info you'd already given! But, at least it's out in the community now....I must need more coffee!

The Windows Key, It's Not Useless After All!
WiredMonkey replied to Snaxe's topic in PC Tips and Tricks
I learned about Windows-D the same day I learned about how to use Alt-Tab to cycle between programs. We had a Terminal/Desktop type PC at work with no mouse but a tiny little touchpad on the keyboard (we used it as a cash register but also to check work emails and use the web for certain portions of the job). Needless to say those two shorcuts come in VERY handy. -
Just in case people aren't checking out the G4TTV boards still, Tyme was released from the hospital today and is headed home... Here's the link to G4 Hopefully when he does decide to get online again, he'll come right here...

Can Someone Please Get Me A Printer Driver?
WiredMonkey replied to Dan's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I'm not having any luck Googling it or anything - is this an old driver? You might need to contact Samsung through phone support or something and have them email a copy of it to you or send you a disk or something...I can't find the drivers on their website, and none of the driver databases I know of on the web have your printer anyway... -

What OS are you using? Dang Samsung's site sucks something awful! hehehe -
handplane: Thank you VERY MUCH...I appreciate the link a lot. It's not much that I'm doing here by donating these, but it makes me feel that maybe someone over there will be a little bit happier by getting more letters, pictures and videos from back home. Whoever came up with this idea should be praised. I would much rather give my invitations to a cause like this than the 15 year olds on G4TTV...

Marty - I know what you mean about the old invite trick to make people feel "wanted", but I don't think that's what Google is doing here... Well, I think they are in a way because they want the beta to be a somewhat-exclusive thing. But, I don't think that's the only reason it's being done. Gmail is a legit email service, provided by Google. You've heard of them on CFH, yes. And probably also on TSS. They were mentioned very affectionately on both programs as being the "next step" in webmail, and I fully agree with that assessment. Gmail is "the new hotness". They have some functionali

Actually, il_wiccan, I think it has more to do with how much you use it. I talk with a few of my friends several times a day on it - almost like a chat back and forth which is handy cause it logs it like a conversation. But, whenever I go through my 6 invites they give me, I almost always have another 6 within 24 hours. I've had 12 given to me so far.

I'm still wondering why we need to give a troll an award. Can't we just kick 'em in the teeth and be done with it?
-
You can do it, JD - it's not easy otherwise people that make the patch and the gum and all that would be out of business...but you can do it if you set your mind to it. My dad was a 4-pack a day guy and quit finally last year after having heart surgery...he's so happy now that he did that he doesn't know why it took him so long. I reminded him why - stubbornness...lol. Of course, this was after the nic-fits had stopped or he probably still woulda smacked the crap outta me. Moral of my blabber - keep on keeping on dude...the destination is worth the journey.

That's a fantastic idea. Is there a place where you can find service men and women who are looking for them? I would happily the ones I have towards such a cause. That's a great idea.
