Well, the OL invited a bunch of people for an Easter barbeque, and we have the grandkids for the weekend. So I went and bought a fifteen pound brisket, ten pounds of potatoes for potato salad, ranch style beans and the rest of the fixins. They were predicting sunny with a high in the mid to upper sixties for Easter all week; cooler than it has been but still good enough. Then today they said that some of that foul northern weather is comming this way and that it will get down to 36 tonite, high of 43 tommorrow and Sunday only low fifties with morning rain. Well that is not perfect weather; but

Save em, they look good as mobiles and christmas ornments.

I agree with you Joe. I personally prefer to cook with whole grains and fresh ingredients when possible . but there are times when you just plain have to have something like corn starch or a processed component to complete a recipe and substitution is not an option. I guess it is one more thing to blame the ill informed rabid environmentalists who do not think things through for. Just as their lawsuits to block nuclear power led to its downfall in the US resulting in the current oil and coal fired plant / global warming debacle; their obsessive jump on the bandwagon endorsement of turning cor

In Texas too Spring has Sprung. The grass is green and growing fast. Last weekend I had to mow the back and it had grown to a foot in under ten days . Of course the back has six automated fertilizer spreaders (dogs) so it really grows fast. But the front is doing fine too . St augustine and bermuda both taking over from the winter rye. Dafffodills etc are long past, everyone is planting the late season flowers. I moved the house plants out some time ago, it was in the eighties yesterday, but a cold front dropped it into the fifties this morning. Looking forward to an Easter Barbeque , first b

I agree with Bozodog; Rural Route is just a convenience for the postman and does not represent an actual location. You will need the actual street address for most mapping programs.

I check my transactions online at least once a week and compare that to the slips before I file them . Same with bank accounts. Any discrepancy and you can be sure I would be in touch and things frozen until I was satisfied. Not to mention demanding compensation of some sort for my finding it before them.

From the statistics so far the FDA has concluded that cats are far more susceptible to this than dogs. Apparrently the melamine is somehow being digested and when excreted it crystalizes in the kidneys.

Strange Message During Shutdown
Pete_C replied to spirittoo's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Now that you mention it I see that you use Win2000 pro and no it does not have system restore so that can't be the problem. All I can say is that it sounds either like crappy software or something else on your system is corrupting it (replacing a shared dll for example). -
Two new developements today. One is that the FDA is reportedly looking into the presence of certain plasticizers found in the recalled foods. Edit additional info The FDA has identified the plastic as Melamine; the plastic commonly used to coat fiberboard shelves and to make plastic plates, bowls etc. There is no history of Melamine being toxic. Additionally it was found in Hills Science Diet prescription dry food, and appears to have been in the wheat gluten imported from China. Investigations continue to see how it got into the gluten and if it poses a threat to the human food supply. Sec

I read that the official figures are lower than the FDA ones and those are lower still than the ones circulation on the veterinarians reporting network VIN http://www.vin.com/ Well that is a bit higher than 14 cases . I think that this really shows that the Bush Administration has totally failed at protecting the nations food and animal feed supply. What if it had been cattle feed or chicken feed which was contaminated? What if it had been a biological agent which could infect humans? Where was our government???

No longer need one of those toilet night lights to make the water glow in the dark??? Best of luck handplane; take care.

I would not try mix and match without checking all the specs. Chances are that if it is quieter and runs slower it has lower Cubic Foot per Minute airflow and will not be good enough . I would suggest you find another heatsink / fan combo which is designed for your chip but is rated at lower sound levels.

Strange Message During Shutdown

http://www.motherboards.org/forums/viewtop...6443d747ae76d0f Someone else has the same problem . It looks like it is a problem with the software. I think Liz may have something, Uninstall, turn off system restore, restart turn it on , and reinstall and see if that helps. -
Okay, I was going to ask if it happened only with a specific program; but you say it occurs every time you start your computer. Is that correct? Next time, starting with the computer off, turn it on and after the POST beep start tapping F8 once a second until you get a start options menu and choose "safe mode" Login to safe mode with your usual account and see if you get the error. Generally this error is caused by a defective device driver or virtual anything driver which is part of something like an antivirus (or a virus) . Can you remember anything you installed or updated just before the

http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul..../dogs/dry_food/ Personally I do not go for fancy stuff and marketing ploys but this comes highly recommended and is carried by the feed and grain store I use for all my "farm type" purchases. They use the no preservatives ... http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul....dealer_locator/ has a list of dealers . What I find really amusing is that on all the news accounts where they identify this contaminant as a Rat poison , most also note that it is only used as a cancer drug in the US; but I have not heard one newscaster do a double take and say "Wha

Good luck. I remember having to drink that "golightly" stuff prior to having my colonstomy reversed and the no food bit . Not sure which was worse, drinking stuff that tastes worse than gatoraide or no food for a day knowing I would be on a food free diet for several days afterwards.

Huge, Annoying Computer Problem.
Pete_C replied to Rukifellith's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Enter the Routers setup and enter the PPPOE username and password for your DSL and connect the DSL modem to the WAN port on the router and then connect each computer to a LAN port on the router. Configure computers to obtain IP automatically from router , run internet connection wizard in IE Tools/ internet options / conections or in control panel and choose "I connect through my LAN to an always on connection". Your problem is the Crappy software and such that your ISP provided and your choice to use internet connection sharing and have your computer act not only as a computer but as a router -
Strange Message During Shutdown
Pete_C replied to spirittoo's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
If the printer is ON when you shut down , does the error not occur? I suspect that it is similar to the one where on an all in one machine the computer is letting it know that the computer is shutting down and confirming that it has no scans pending or print jobs pending which could delay the shutdown and when it checks and does not get a response from the printer (which you turned off) it gives the error. There should be a "status monitoring" program for the printer which you can disable too. -
Huge, Annoying Computer Problem.
Pete_C replied to Rukifellith's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I agree with bubba; this sounds like a problem caused by DSL software like the SBC Yahoo internet browser and their mangled antivirus and antispyware bundle . I have seen it cause this sort of problem and worse. Try uninstalling it and see if you can install your network adapter. Do you have a router? If not you really would benefit from having one if you have broadband in that it will let you set up your connection without the ISPs software and it will have NAT to act as a firewall. -
Few people realize how few major manufacturing facilities there actually are, nor do they realize how many different brands are actually made by one manufacturer and just the label is different. The fact that this covers 95 brands would to me indicate that they are essentially identical ; although each individual formula may contain a pinch more of this or that or some additional ingredient. Take milk for example. Next time you are in the supermarket check out the "expiration date and identification code" Look carefully and you will find that the store brand has the stamp in the same locati

I heard today that they found that the contaminant was an as yet unspecified Rat Poison. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17754681/ The treatment for Aminopterin poisoning is FOLIC ACID http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/137/2/167 http://bloodjournal.hematologylibrary.org/...tract/4/10/1142 Although this will not indefinitely protect against toxic exposure it can be used to treat a one time exposure.

Usb Connection Issues Sp2 Related?
Pete_C replied to psyk0tic's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
It has been a while since I dealt with this but if I recall it was actually related to installed software for one of the devices not just the driver. I forget how we narrowed down which specific device it was causing the problem; but uninstalling its software and its driver solved the problem. Then it could be reinstalled correctly. Do you have any usb devices which required installing the software before installing the driver such as a USB printer or scanner? The problem is that the software is not functioning completely correctly so that any new device connected is being misidentified as th -
Yeah, when I went to the Cardiologist last year he said my Potassium levels were abnormally high and asked initially if I was using salt substitute in a mistaken attempt to lower my sodium consumption. When I said, no I know the whole salt and high blood pressure thing is a myth since it actually affects less than one percent of the population that way ; he said good, do you eat a lot of bananas and stone fruit (peaches , apricots ...) . When I said yes, he said "Well stop, or at least cut back you are overdosing on potassium; you could develop heart and kidney problems". I still like the occa

Why would moving the RAM around affect a crash? Well, the memory controller normally reads the stick in slot 0 and configures things based on its specifications. So , if you had one in slot 1 which could not be stable using the settings specified by the one in slot 0 and but the one in slot 0 would be stable using the settings of the one in slot 1 then swapping them will result in stability. Another problem , not very common these days is bimetal corrosion. This was particularly common when RAM and slots came in either Tin plated or Gold plated. If you mixed them eventually you would have pr
