Craiche Marty; what will you do when all those Australian tourists come wading ashore.

I think if I lived in a fireprone area I would definitely have a large underground cistern hooked to the gutters and a swimming pool and a huge pump (with a generator or just a diesel powered pump) and a sprinkler / fountain system designed to soak the roof and house. Of course a standing seam metal roof would not hurt either. Or maybe just build the whole thing underground. It really confuses me why these people in malibu and wealthy parts of California have huge swimming pools but no provision to use them to keep the house wet in the case of an impending fire. Seems it would be faster and c

Well he mentioned a planned trip to Costa Rica back in February; but nothing more recent that I recall. I seem to recall mention of someone in the Phillipines; and he has friends in Malaysia (one of them keyed me in to his being out of touch ). Since he corresponds with them via email and chat; I doubt he would be totally out of contact this long if he were just visiting. Maybe he went on a cruise or something like that where it is harder to stay in touch.

Which is why combofix should only be run after an expert has examined your OT , HJT, and MBAM logs to determine that there is nothing which will cause your computer not to boot if removed and why most analysts have you use the recovery console installation feature of combofix prior to running it so that at a minimum you can launch the recovery console and tell combofix to restore what it removed and run system restore to get you back to where you were before running it.

Congratulations. I agree with Jdoors; make sure you can afford the apartment on your own just in case at least for a few months. Never can tell when roommates will decide to change arrangements. Regarding the job aspect; well worth checking into is work study / paid internships through the university. Not only does it help pay expenses but it is valid real world experience when you go into the post degree job market. Often they have local industry which is looking for students to assist their higher paid degreed employees.

Thanks that did it. I must have double clicked while a page was loading and changed the setting.

Thanks; Kent contacted me again and said he had been unable to contact him since he appears to have stopped posting elsewhere and was worried since he lives alone. Did Marsh tell you what happened with CabDad? His son occasionally posts on G4 (I forget who he is) but afaik he does not want to be found. By the way; suddenly all threads have changed to a tree view instead of thread. Can't find the option to change it back . Any suggestions?
-
Marsh_0x that is . A friend of his from Malaysia (Kentsos?) PMd me at G4 and I noticed he hasn't logged in there in two months. Looks like he hasn't been here in longer. I recall him mentioning plans to visit Costa Rica; but Kent says he does not even answer his yahoo mail.

Cute. Imagine if they had invented ink jet printing before movable type single page printing; then we would still be using scrolls. Scrolls do have their advantages; it is much easier to notice if a page in the middle has been torn out for example.

Cheney Kept Cia Program From Congress, Source Says
Pete_C replied to hitest's topic in World and Politics
I agree with the "Why is this even news". I long since concluded that anything that the Bush Cheney administration said was either a deception or outright pack of lies. They were never truthful with The American People and did not act in the best interest of The People , The Constitution, or The Country. While congress as a whole may not be fully informed about the activity of the CIA; there are individuals who hold the necessary clearances and are supposed to be briefed and given access to the classified material so that they can make informed decisions and committee recommendations to the fu -
I think probably the simplest solution is something along the line of the Iomega Screenplay http://go.iomega.com/en-us/products/multim...verviewItem_tab It is also probably the cheapest device designed to do this. http://www.frys.com/product/5806733?site=s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG Not familiar with this but it seems similar Western Digital TV HD Media Player http://www.frys.com/product/5806533?site=s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG The sling catcher http://www.frys.com/product/5383748?site=s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG http://www.slingmedia.com/go/slingcatcher Is a device designed specifically to allow you to watch files

Yep, the dangers of home building and home repair is that you are your own insurer, warranty service , and tech support. It is all to easy to become lax and do something you know you should not do. If it goes well you say "Wow, I sure lucked out that time" if you notice it at all; if it goes bad you spend the next few days mulling it over and saying "God was I stupid; I know better than that. How could I overlook something so obvious." Bottom line is it happens to us all eventually and all you can do is hope you learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them.

I'll go other since there is no "none" option. I rarely "look forward" to an upcoming movie and to me summer is just the same as winter just hotter. I work year round and haven't taken a vacation in years (last time I took time off was 1992 when I got shot . My boss always joked that if I wanted a vacation I just needed to ask and that getting shot to get time off was going a bit far.) I just like my job and my home and my wife and see no need to leave any of them. Movies in general I will at a minimum wait for them to hit the dollar cinema. (Mondays are 50 cents for senior citizens, and the

I hate players; a whore at least gives you something in return for your money rather than just leading you on and taking you for all she can get like a player.

Internet Connection Issues (with Vista?)
Pete_C replied to Bagelmeister's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Change your workgroup from the school work group to the home workgroup. -
Congrats; and yes enjoy yourself.

I used to love going to these music festivals (Newfane Vermont comes to mind) when I was in college. But with rising admission costs and me and the OL just plain not being able to sit on hard ground for hours at a time comfortably it has been a while. We tried one a couple years back (forget the headliner, maybe Little Feat or Lynard Skynard revival or something like that) and we called it quits before the headline band made it to the stage. I remember when I would go to a concert and think nothing of coming home at 5AM; but now stay anywhere more than a few hours and one of us wants to

Right click my computer and choose properties This should tell you if you are SP1, SP2, or SP3 (will be listed in System section of general tab) The service pack should not affect your high speed USB host; what determines it is first the hardware. If you do not have a USB 2.0 High speed host controller physically you cannot achieve USB 2.0 speeds. Second is the drivers. You need the appropriate drivers for your motherboard; you can get them from HP Looks like they do not have any XP drivers just bios update http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...=reg_R1002_USEN And just sound and graph

My thoughts exactly. This explains why it had such a problem the first round as part of the"activation" process involves turning it off. Since that did not work the first girl had had me unplug it; that should have been a red flag that the box was at fault and not me. (None the less , on the first box when the second tech brought up the file he said there was a note that I was old and confused and couldn't tell the A and B cables apart and should have a technician set things up. I explained that even if I were blind I could tell which cable had the raised ridge and he agreed that either cable

New Computer -- What Settings Should I Change?
Pete_C replied to JDoors's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
There was a post about a hotfix for problems when you unplug and reconnect USB devices in vista a week or two back. I think Peaches posted it. If that applies install the patch. -
Yes, I wonder what happened to that girl who told me my box was going to 'splode. Of course it could be that that box was defective from the get go and that was why it had so much trouble being set up. This one has been on all day and not a glitch. Just brought up onboard diagnostic General status => no errors returned Signal To Noise Ration 35dB (Good) Carrier lock count 1 (Has not dropped connection ) Error count 00000 PCR lock confirmed Memory status 0 Fail Also, when turned off this one actually turns off, no signal going through. Hooray, no more mystery voices coming out of the TV

Well that box lasted less than a month. It began glitching (tch tch noises, green and black pixels, freezing up) last week. At first I thought it was just the Texas heat getting to the line amps (repeaters) but then I realized the other box was not having any issues. Tried swapping boxes and box A has problems in both locations box b has no problems either location. Tried swapping A/B cables at both ends just to be sure. Problem got worse on friday, and by late Saturday it would make tch tch noise, and go blank. Eventually it got to the "this station should be available shortly" on all statio
