    Hi

    Welcome Sempron Shane!
  2. Thanks for all your help. I'm going out today to look at the ones mentioned. I'll let you know. Joe
  3. D'oh!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys and gals. I knew it was something simple like that.........just didn't know what. I probably changed my AVATAR a dozen times over the years....yet.... well,..... the grey matter seems to vanish more easily lately. When I decided to put Santa Cat on, I went to 'My Controls" and just assumed that the thing to change was my personal photo. One of these days I'll have this whole 'puter thing figured out............ And then I'll be dead. Thanks again for all your help. Joe (and Santa Cat)
  4. ... antique there are two ways to reflect on antique: I would say " mellowed over time" But I'm sure some of the younger crowd would just say " dead wood".
  5. I just tried Firefox and get the same results. (was on IE earlier) And I'm a paranoid neurotic about constantly dumping the temp files and cache, so that's not the issue. Maybe some people have Internet 2 ?
  6. Thanks for the info. Keep the ideas coming. Joe
  7. That's odd. Yes, the Santa hat cat is the new one. But I still keep seeing the old one also.
  8. OK. Thanks. I was looking at E FAX. Any thoughts on the scanner?
  9. I uploaded a new jpg to use as my personal photo yesterday but he old one is still there. It's well within the size limitations. Am I missing something? Thanks, Joe
  10. I want to get a flatbed scanner and need some advice. My S.O. said that she'd like a fax machine for her home office. But they are so outdated that I thought a good scanner and some fax software would work better. I don't think I'd be putting in a fax modem. The scanner should be able to offer good copying qualities for legal forms, text, and maybe photos. (as a gift to myself, maybe a slide scanning attachment too?) It will be attached to a Win XP computer. Any suggestions? Thanks, Joe

  17. I used to think that Audible was a good company. That ended yesterday when I called about what should have been a simple solution to my problem but instead was compounded by "Ed", of "customer service". I had been a member for about a year at the "Platinum" level which cost $23 a month and offers 2 book credits monthly. I am usually cafeful about which books I buy and check reviews. I felt that I should be able to download the books of my choice on MY timetable, not Audible's I should have had 13 unused credits but while checking my online account I saw that I only had 12. I then noticed that
