A very good resource for online shopping is Pricewatch Most of the stores are reviewed by customers. Stay away from the ones with negative reviews.

Just A Little Something For You Guys In New York.
irregularjoe replied to bearskin's topic in Open Chat
God how I miss real weather! Hot, hotter, and hottest are NOT my idea of the Seasons. You're definitely missing out on the winter weather. Redfield has received over 11 feet of snow in the past week. We are expecting a Nor'easter for the next 36 hours that may dump over an additional 3 feet with lake effect returning after that passes through. City of Fulton Wow. You sure are getting hit. My brother lives in Rochester which has also been snowed in. (He bailed out to Florida for two weeks) He used to live in Oneonta. I drove RT. 23 from CT/ Mass to Oswego county MANY times. Really like that -

Back Button Adds Favorites?
irregularjoe replied to irregularjoe's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
This line if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") { checks if the browser is IE before evaluating the code the add the favorite. It probably wouldn't work anyway; I doubt Opera has the AddFavorite API the script uses. OK. I understand now. Thanks. Joe -
Scanners usually pick up more info than copiers. Of course that depends upon the quality of both AND of the original photo. Another option, and I've done this with OLD photos, we're talking about 1930's, is to place the photo on a white mat and take a photo of THAT with a good camera and lens from 12 to 18 inches away. You'll also need some decent lighting. I'm a photoghapher, so I've played around with these ideas before. Of course you'll need a good digital camera to do this and then you'll have to edit the photo in a Photoshop type program. Or, and probably a lot easier, as said earlier,

Very interesting comments. My network will remain open though. These discussions are great. That's what it's all about. Sharing opinions.

Yeah, I think Marty wants to copy real photos to a disc. A good photo scanner would be the way to go.

I know the feeling all to well. The most recent experience was this scenario: I get out of my truck in a shopping center parking lot , having to go into the bank. Lock the truck and remember that I don't have my glasses. Unlock the truck and can't find the glasses. Looking everywhere.....dashboard, on the seat amongst all the other crap that I carry around, under the seats, etc. Still no glasses. ....Now I KNOW that I had them before pulling into the parking lot. So thinking that maybe they fell out of my pocket, I start looking under the truck and on the adjacent ground. And that's when it ha

Back Button Adds Favorites?
irregularjoe replied to irregularjoe's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
The code is a little over my head. So why does it do it in IE (other than the usual M$ issues) and not in Opera? -
That's what I thought. Thanks.

Thanks! Yes I did get the error again but noticed that it had opened anyway. Strange, 'huh? But I was able to change both the boot order and the timeout. Joe shanenin rules! I agree. One more question if I may: Grub refers to Windows as "other". (talk about disrespect! Can I change "other" to "windows" in grub.conf?

Back Button Adds Favorites?
irregularjoe replied to irregularjoe's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Here's the url if you want to check it: Back button to favorites I tried it again in another session. Same results. I also noticed that it happens when you try to close the window. I'm not interested in buying anything from them. Just wondering about the favorites trying to open. -

I think this is a new scam. Using IE 7 I was searching for drug prescribtion cost info on Google. This one particular site that kept coming up for "cheap canadian drugs" or some such nonsense would open an "add to favorites" dialog box whenever I tried to use the back button. I had to close the window to get rid of them. Has anyone heard of this?
