Marty: If you have not joined Hotmail before, open up Outlook Express and top right see if you have "Go MSN", click that, home page loads, top right click "Sign In there you will have the option to sign up." Just a suggestion, but why not make the color code the same under their name, such as BestTechie Admin is Red; Moderator is Blue and so on. I hope this makes sense what I'm trying to say. It would stand out clearly when they post and it says Group: Admin and so on. That way you would not have to look at the bottom to see who is what. Just a thought. Barb

I also believe it's the manufacturers that have decided to do this. I think most of them do it now. I know Dell you can get the CD, but you have to ask for it, and you will be charged for it. At least that is what I read. I would not mind that. I want the CD for OS. Barb

Marty: That is a good idea. Change it to a FREE email addy like Yahoo, Hotmail or whatever, and don't log into that account for more than 30 days and they are suppose to de-activate it. After they de-activate it, sign up for a new one different name, or if you can unsubscribe. Netscape also has FREE email. These are just a few. Barb

Try this web site for Sony Vaio: Sony Vaio There is a self service at the bottom. I couldn't go any further as I don't know your model. I think Sony calls it a Recovery Wizard. You might want to check and see if you have that. Click start/programs/accessories? It has to be somewhere, I would think. Not sure if this is what you need. I don't know anything about a Sony. I have a Dell, and on the newer ones it is located start/programs/dell accessories/dell os recovery cd. See if you have similiar only called Sony, of course. Barb

Happy Anniversary BestTechie Thanks Jeff for giving us a great place to gather, and chit chat with some of the nicest people on the net. It is so nice to be able to just talk to each other without restrictions as other boards have. We are definately family here. You can't find that on any other board.
