  3. Hey handplane. Statcounter places a cookie so that if you go to a site that has it, you will be recognized as a returning visitor. It doesn't track where you go beyond that website. Just so you know, ad-aware also flags yahoo cookies.
  4. Nawww I have no way to check logs... I'm sure I'll hear about the answer, it's been posted on a few sites so someone may figure it out... http://www.statcounter.com/ free tool shows where visits are coming from
  5. I would suggest a third party firewall over the windows one because of more functionality, and more protection. The windows one will not block possible malicious outgoing packets like 3rd party apps could.
  6. Alright. Your log is clean. I'm closing this topic now.
  7. Hi IEatHardDrives. Jotti is a very good scanner, and you probably shouldn't have touched those files if they came up clean. However, yes the could have been part of malware; the fact that it was uncertain is why I had you do a scan. How is your system running now? Also, could you post a HJT log please.

Well Linda, you computer is clean. That report from your spyware program is a false alert. No, do not have Panda "fix" that, that is not a virus. The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again. 20. Hi calbeee! Welcome to Besttechie! I will be assisting you in cleaning up your computer! Please print out these directions for use if/when you cannot access this page. One thing I need you to do first is to place HiJackThis into a permanent folder. The reason for this is so that when HJT makes backups, they will be stored in a safe place. *Go to Start > My Computer > and double click on C:. * Now right click an open area and click New > folder and change the folder name to HJT. * Extract HijackThis from the zipped file into this new folder. Scan with HiJackThis, and place a check
