Well, the band kinda split up heh. They decided to leave the Purevolume up though, so people can still listen.
  2. Well! I get home today, boot up the pc, hear a nice stereo sounding windows noise and realize its working fine. Guess it just needed a reboot.
  3. Tonight while listening to some music, I noticed that no sound was coming out of my left speaker. This happened out of no where, as it was working earlier. I thought this was very odd, so I started playing with the cords. No matter how far I pushed in the cord on the back of the box, no sound would come out of the left speaker. If I pulled it out a little bit, I got faint sound in the left, and some static in the right. I tried the cord that connects the two speakers (as the right one is directly connected to the pc and the left is connected to the right) and that didn't work. I tried pl
  4. Quick question Jeff. Below my posts, it tells me how much 'attachment space' I have left. IIRC< the last version had a place in my profile where I could manage my attachments. Where is that now, I couldn't seem to find it. Ahh found it. Its under 'My Controls'
  5. Wow, lots of new features in the profile! 'Recent Posts' , 'Friends' , 'Comments' and more /me has some exploring to do
  6. Don't forget the "Tell a friend about BT!" thing /me wonders if this works too...
  7. Where I work, if we accept credit cards, we make sure the person signed the back. My boss told me that if they signed it, we are not liable for fraudulent use. However, if they did not sign it, we ask for a photo ID, so that we can verify that it wasn't stolen. If we process an unsigned card, we are liable. That, at least, is what I was told. It probably varies on different situations though.
  8. "no one ever posts here" is completely relative. I think lots of people post here! The forums aren't huge, but they aren't tiny anymore either. Do you any specific suggestions on how to get "more people" on the forums?
  9. Very Cool. AVG runs much nicer than Norton eh?
  10. Just wondering, what brought you to the conclusion that runservice.exe was causing the slowdown, as aposed to just Norton, or something else?
  11. From everything I have found, runservice.exe should not have issues with any AV. That file should do nothing more than act as copy-protection for games.
  12. Despite all the prorams you have running, none of them is a good substitute for an Anti-Virus. I would highly suggest you enable it again. You are at a high risk without it. As for Xoftspy, I would actually advise you to remove it. It has had many concerns with false-positives, and it isn't very good at protecting you anyway. If you don't want to re-enable Norton, but would like to give a free alternative a try, that could also help. As already stated, Norton is a resource hog. If you are looking for a different AV, I would suggest AVG Free. It is a free and very good anti-virus that won
  13. /me still enjoys his roughly 2 spam emails a week
  14. So now you have disabled your anti-virus? Thats not good. defwatch.exe is part of an application that you have that is supposed to 'compliment your virus protection.' runservice.exe is a part of the eLicense licensing system incorporated with common software and games. runservice.exe should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly.
  15. Hey, thanks for that bit of info Pat! I thought it was odd that I couldn't ind anything on the story anywhere else.
  16. This is really old, but I just found it today (not completely sure if it's true ) : Link
  17. I'm gonna be the guy that chimes in saying that I don't trust registry cleaners. Don't feel safe with an automated tool working in the registry, and there have been so many reports of various ones breaking computers (such as ccleaner). Just my $.02 Matt
  18. Supyall eh? Long time no see. Welcome to Besttechie and Merry Christmas. Locked.
  19. I saw this on digg. Since it was posted, others have called Verizon on this, and they are still quoting by cents rather than dollars. BTW, the clip isn't really two hours long, it ends shortly after 25 mins. Pretty funny.

    The Arts?

Hopefully, the spam issue should be resolved now. Jeff spoke with Blair (owner of Geekstogo.com) and a new registration process was installed. It seems like bots were getting past our old image verification.
