Thanks again to everyone with their wishes of good fortune. I justed wanted to let you all know that I got a new job today working for my university's IT support desk. I'll be starting when the new semester begins in January. I'm pretty excited. It is somewhat of a pay cut from the job I just left, but I think I will enjoy the work a lot more. If nothing else, it will be good experience in the IT field. Matt

  7. I would chime it with a post about how the best operating system is a compilation of freeware... but I don't think that's exactly what this post was looking for
  8. My point was that you, scissorhands7 are foolish to not be running anti-virus software. But now I'm not sure whether you are or aren't. Do you run anti-virus software on your internet connected windows machine?
  9. I'm leaving this up to Pete_C. He has the authority to edit that post if he so wishes. As of right now, he's got a stronger argument in my opinion. Convince him, not me.
  10. Ahhhh, but thats NOT what you said in your original post. Here's what you actually said: Now you're contradicting yourself in addition to making claims with little-to-no support.
  11. ask any expert you like in the malware field. No one uses these tools much anymore. They simply can't get the job done.
  12. I would just like to point out that phishing and XSS can both lead to drive-by installations of malware on a machine in addition to potential identity theft. So my original point was that even if you are a safe surfer, you can still fall victim to an infection which is why every windows user who is connected to the internet should have anti-virus software.
  13. Lookup XSS and phishing. Maybe then you'll see that safe surfing habbits isn't guaranteed protection. IE7 has a default phishing filter. And you think that it's 100% effective? Live by the sword, die by the sword. You should follow the basic fundamentals of Windows Security if you want to have any credibility.

  15. "OS A is better than OS B" arguements are stupid. This thread is about posting screenshots, not debating which OS is better. If you want to do that, start a new thread. If that new thread becomes a flame war, it will be closed.
  16. If you would be so kind as to support your claim, I'd be happy to reconsider the post.

Yeah, I'm not regretting my decision at all. I know something will come along. Even if I don't get one of the jobs I'm hoping for, the local restaurants are always hiring. Maybe I'll do some freelance stuff on the side too...

So yesterday I finally put in my two-weeks notice at the local ColdStone Creamery. I have worked there for almost three years (been a shift manager for two and a half), and I've finally had enough. It was hard leaving that place, I've made so many great friends and it's not the greatest time to quit a job, but I had to. ColdStone is a franchise, so my employer and the owner of my store isn't the same person who's involved with the ColdStone Corporation. For the past six months our pay checks have been consistently late. It wasn't that big of a deal, really. We'd usually just get them the n
