  2. We've had a few topics about the economy, but the real reason I voted for Obama was foreign policy. Here's an interesting article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29115094/

And it seems like some will spin anything to favor Bush and/or look bad on Obama. I'm just adding my opinions to the discussion

"I made a mistake... I screwed up" - I don't recall the last president making such admissions.
  6. I agree with Shanenin and bozodog. Just imagine, if certain drugs were legalized, illegal drug lords would have no business because they're "customers" wouldn't need them anymore. Without business they would lose their "power" and reduce crime. But I also believe that pot is no worse than alcohol... and it makes no sense to have alcohol legal if pot is not... and the other way around.

  8. Thanks for the warning blim! That's great news flashh! Congrats! Let us know when you get the 'all clear'
  9. I don't think that's a very fair statement. Anyway... gun control and constitutional rights are a completely different topic. In my opinion, marijuana really isn't something as terrible as the reputation. Alcohol and Tobacco are much worse and kill much more easily. But so many people think that marijuana is this awful substance. There aren't enough open supporters to initiate a change in policy and no politician will ever put their career on the line to support it. I think it should be legal, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

You and I seem to have different memories of the public opinion. I recall many many many people very much against the invasion of a country that had never killed a US citizen, nor had threatened the United States in any way. I also recall Colin Powell openly saying that he tried to convince Bush for hours not to invade Iraq because there was no intelligence suggesting that they had WMDs. How was it our responsibilty to stop Saddam? America should have been worrying about it's own people--worrying about bin Ladin, not what Saddam was doing. If we're the ones who are supposed to be intervein

Except the Iraq War falls under Defense... and that was most certainly in his control.

Back to a positive note... I for one, couldn't be more pleased with the selection of Obama. Whether you're a Democrat, Republican, third-party, or independent, I'm sure we all hope that Obama succeeds and does well. Regardless of your party affiliation, like it or not, he is the President of the United States. The country goes as he goes. I have high hopes for the next four years.

  20. So yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to mess with some of my partitions, and move some around. Namely, I moved my vista partition and it didn't really appreciate that. At first it wouldn't boot, but I popped in my disk and selected "Repair my computer." This made Vista bootable, and I was able to log in under my name. However, my personal profile could bot be loaded, and I had to manually start explorer.exe. I can't open any files, it just tells me they don't exist (even if I click directly on them). The same goes for running any application, such as IE. I was hoping to do a repa

  22. I thought I should elaborate a little on my last post. Here's what it says when I try to boot to the Windows partition: Thanks, Matt
  23. Ok, I managed to get my Linux partition bootable by changing root to (hd0,5) but now when I select the Windows partition, Windows says it needs to be repaired. Should I run the repair console, or will that kill Grub again with the Windows Boot Loader?
