I had the exact problem a while back, when I called my ISP they said theres nothing wrong, after some searching I found out that if I plug my router and modem in a different socket then my computer speakers etc.. it will work proper, also make sure that the speakers and the the router plug are about 6 ft apart. I have was about 4 months drop connection free, until a few months ago when it happened once, everything is ok now. Hope that can help you Spazmatic, I know its really annoying when they say its not our fault (our computer shows that there is no dropped connection, we cant help you) lol

I found the site its http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/ Basically I just need to a Distro that will let me play my games and run apps that I think only run on windows like Winamp, ZA, etc... But what about all my files I have about 60 gbs worth of things if I could only get rid of XP but still have all my files. Wait I can duel boot with XP and a Linux Distro, I saw a few sites but it looks like if you make 1 wrong move your screwed and will lose all of your files, I will search again but if you guys have some good tutorials I will be willing to try them out to have a go at Linux.

What are the main differences between KDE and GNOME? I've done google searches and asked around but cant get a straight answer. Which is better for certain things and if you have something like Knoppix can you install a GNOME DE on that?

Yes, it says that it downloads and installes the files but when I go back to choose express or custom it gives me that page again.

Problem. I deleted my temp update files and now whenever I go to MS's site for updates it gives me this I've tried System restore but it doesnt help. I used Windows Washer to delete the files and it has to option to restore what it deletes.

I had no idea that it was possible to play Windows games on Linux, so I guess that you can get Windows apps to play on Linux i.e Winamp, Trillian etc... But what about driver updates for graphics cards or sound cards etc... When I tried Knoppix some hardware doesnt work on my PC and if I use Kubuntu I get the same problem but with something else, I used the Live CDs anyway if things work on Linux that worked on Windows I going to switch over for sure. P.S. Whats that site which helps you choose which Linux Distro is best for you?

Is there a way that I can make an ISO of XP with SP2 and some software on that. So when I install XP it will have SP2 and some programs ready to go, on either DVD or CD?

Ya, Sorry about the questions, I was up the night before and had to wake up at 5 am so I was really sleepy and didnt feel like googling , But heres a question for you guys. Why is it that the DVD says I can only put 120 mins of Video on a DVD, But what if its not the best quality cant I put about 4 GBs on it and make it play on a DVD player. When I usually buy a DVD it looks great and about 5 or 6 hours long, whats the deal?

I just recently baught a new Dule-Layer DVD burner and I have the Alcohol 120% Trial Version, I need to back up my XBox games and I have a few movies that I want to put on DVD How can I do these 2 things, also what the heck is DVD-Ram? sorry for the dumb questions

He wants to use his PC to call other people in the US, and other places around the world, I've found a few but they cost money and he doesnt want tp pay for them. I think most of the files were overwritten, when I recovered them they had the correct names but when opened some were correct but most were corrupt. I've formated my computer and took most of the files that were fine to a spare computer, good thing I also had most of my files on another computer that I use. Thx for the offer
