MrBill
That is what friends are for. Some are just better than others.
blim
Well, certainly hoping the pill/diet/exercise does the trick, Marty!! And glad to hear you aren't having any invasive treatment. Now, do what the Doc tells you, Young Man Liz

Pete_C
Hey marty; best of luckIf this is one of those "Statin" anti cholesterol drugs; make sure to take CoEnzyme Q-10 supplements (100mg or more per day). Co Q-10 is normally produced in adequate quantity by the liver; but these drugs suppress it. The result is muscle damage which can be excruciating and crippling (Hence the warning about report muscle pain or weakness to your doctor). Taking a daily supplement can at least minimize your risk of developing this side effect (left my father in law in a wheel chair till he died and nearly did the same to my wife who now has to take daily Q-10 supplements even after they discontinued the statins).Omega-3 (fish oil) and phytosterols (cholestoff) can reduce the bad cholesterol and raise the good (remains liquid at body temp rather than waxy like the bad which deposits out) which will eventually dissolve the bad cholesterol. Make sure to take vitamin D supplement (generally you need 1000 iu or more not the 400 iu daily recommended) to help metabolize out the calcium in the plaques too. I wish you all the best, and it sounds like your doctor knows what he is talking about - Take the advice given and run with it, and make sure to tell the doc about any changes as you take this medication Take Care Brian
