  3. Well, you can stop sendmail if you're not running an e-mail server, that'll free up some RAM:-) If you go into your services settings there is a description of each service that starts at boot-up. There are some services you need at boot-up like networking, etc.

  11. ReiserFS has worked very well for me in Slackware and so has ext3 which is what I'm running now on my Slackware boxes. I'd say ReiserFS sounds good if you need a bit more storage for your media files.

    No problem, you're very welcome:-) The Admin/Moderator team at BT is very lucky; we have a mature membership here, the members largely police themselves and trolls are a rarity.

  14. Yeah, I just bought black and colour ink for my epson printer.........aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh:-) I can buy a new laser printer for the price of the new ink cartridges. I think I'll get a new printer next time instead, Liz:-)
