Yeah, thunderbird is not as full featured as Outlook. Suse used to ship with Evolution which is a full-featured client. Maybe you can find an evolution download somewhere. You could always upload all of your Outlook contacts from your laptop to your Gmail account and have gmail notify you or forward your mail. That's not probably what you want. I've never done it, but, maybe set-up your e-mail clients for IMAP; have all e-mail in one place and not downloaded to your different computers. Maybe your ISP will allow you to set-up your e-mail clients for IMAP.

I've had fluid, wax build-up that has caused me to lose my hearing. I hope your antibiotics clears up your condition.

I once got mildly screwed by IBM. I purchased a copy of IBM Anti-virus back in the days of Windows 95 and it said on the box "lifetime updates." Of course after about six months IBM pulled the plug and informed me that they were getting out of the anti-virus business and that they would no longer be providing on-line updates. IBM invited me to purchase a copy of Norton AV. After a few terse e-mails and one polite phone call to IBM I got what I wanted, a free copy of Norton Anti virus. I pointed out to IBM that their statement "lifetime updates" was misleading and false advertising. IBM di

Huh. Every installation of KDE I've used has had more screen hacks than the standard installation of xscreensaver. KDE has about a dozen more in the K/Ubuntu installation I'm using now. I ran Kubuntu for a time, that is a really nice version of Ubuntu.

You can just right-click anywhere on the desktop when running KDE and then click on Configure Desktop. Screensaver controls are right there.

LOL Good one, Liz. Jay never misses a beat.

No complaints from me either about KDE on my Slackware box. KDE has excellent functionality and stability.

I like running KDE and XFce4 on my Slackware box and Gnome on my Ubuntu box. In my opinion both Gnome and KDE offer good functionality. I don't really have a favourite WM, but, like the maturity of KDE and Gnome. XFce is light and fast, but, lacks features.

Very interesting Pete_C, lucky thing that you caught it in time! I had an old Tercel that leaked oil, down the side of the block, but, it wasn't worth it to fix the leak ( the repair bill would exceed the value of the wreck). So I would regularly top it up with some oil..................oil is cheap:-)

Am I Paranoid Or Should I Be Concerned
hitest replied to handplane's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Yes, I try to run a tight ship. Run Sygate and it's up to date. Also have and they are all up to date also: a² SpyBot Spywareblaster AVG It sounds to me like you're in good shape. Software firewalls are very good. You may also wish to consider a hardware firewall solution, a NAT router can also help to protect you from hackers. I run an inexpensive router on my home LAN, it is one more thing between you and the Internet. No solution is perfect, but, it sounds like you're taking good precautions to keep out the script kiddies and hackers. -
Happy Birthday, Matt!!!!!! Have a great day, my man! Kick back and listen to some tunes and drink some cold beverages, relax.

I agree with jcl, handplane, there are indeed bad people out there. Just keep your XP box fully patched with all of the latest windows security updates, keep your anti-virus updated and scan your unit for malware and virii on a regular basis. Do you have a firewall on your computer, handplane?
