  2. I'm looking for a good wireless card for a notebook (Gateway 400vtx). One with an optional external atenna would be nice. And not too heavy on the wallet. But im not really sure what I should look for, what are good brands, etc. Im new to the whole wireless thing, I've been using cables for oh so long.

Modem -> Router -> My Computer (Windows XP PRO SP2) -> Wireless LAN Adapter -> WiFi Device So the Wireless LAN Adapter gets its connection from My computer which sends it to the device(s) that are connected to it using Internet connection Sharing.   4. I have ubuntu v5, and I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade to version 6. Or do I have to burn a new CD and then reinstall?

  6. should I get my SSL certificate for www.domain.com or domain.com? Is there a way to forward the domain or something like that to the type that has the SSL cert, so that no matter what people use it has it? I dont want to buy 2 SSL certificates if at all possible. If not what is more popular w/ or w/o www.?
  7. I fixed it. just unplugged everything and let it sit for a bit. Then started it up, reinstalled the hardware. And it worked.
  8. both ends are seated into router and comp correctly. Tried a different port. It's an integrated card. And apparently other people have had this problem, I have found 2 cases with google, and sadly no solutions.

For some reason my brothers computer will not see the network. he says that around 5 tonight all of a sudden it cycles between "aquiring network address" and "network cable unplugged" I tried removing and reinstalling the network card, with no luck. I'm kinda thinking he got some kind of bad software installed or something.
  11. I was thinking it was the PSU or motherboard, like you guys mentioned. One thing, anyone know of a place that will let you borrow a power supply to test it on your machine, and then buy it if thats what is wrong. I know most places dont take back opened computer stuff anymore =(
  12. Well, last night i was up untill 3am, i took apart the whole computer cleaned and reassembled everything. After that was all done it worked! So today i brought it over back to my friends house, hooked up up there.... And it didnt turn on, seems i forgot to plug it into the wall =P But then it froze on windows, so i restarted, again it happend. So i made sure wires were in secure, clearned CMOS and it worked. Then i went to put the case back together and plugged in the fans it stopped working. Unplugged fans, it worked. Somereason i plugged fans back in and it worked. Then tried to install w
  13. This is a different computer, Friends and family just come to me for help because I "know" how to fix computers. When really I am better at breaking them.
  14. Basicully when i load windows XP, get ot loging screen, type in password for ANY account and then user gets logged off, never get to desktop or anything. Tried safe mode, and last good config, and all of that. No idea what is wrong. Help! Thank you
  15. No overclocking or overheating or modifying of any sort. Its been in a well ventilated area with.... over 6 fans in there keping it cool.
  16. BIOS settings are at default now. So unless the defaults are wrong....
  17. Why would it work sometimes? Is there an easier way to find out what is faulty besides taking everything ut and trying them in other computers? Also, everything "turns on" All the fans (even on video card), HD's, optical drives, CPU, i can hear them all do there thing.
  18. I have a computer here that will not boot. I start it up and everything hums like normal but no video goes to the monitor. And there also is no boot beep. The video card is in all the way. Sometimes i start it up and it poots up fine, gets to post code 7F (BIOS: Phoenix) So i can press F1 to continue and boot into windows and it works fine. Or i can press Del and go into bios setup.
  19. Is it possible to take a CPU from one mobo and put it in a new one as long as they are the same socket type?
  20. I was curious, if you buy Windows XP or Vista (I know its not out), and you get the normal 1 person licences thing. Then what happens when you reformat? Can you no longer use your OS, and have to buy a new one? Or can you re-register with it?
  21. 1. Hellgate London IS Diablo III in a sense, its made by the guys that MADE diablo II, so you should expect it to be pretty good. They cant call it Diablo III for obvious reasons since they left Blizzard and all. Ghost wasnt stopped for good, its just no longer being worked on at this moment, it may be started up when it's time comes.
