Myth - "Windows XP requires a high end PC to install and run" Reality - "Windows XP can be installed on surprisingly low system requirements contrary to popular opinion. With the average life cycle of a regular PC being roughly 4-6 years, just about any PC being used today can run Windows XP. The following requirements are Microsoft's "official" minimum system requirements which I have tested to work fine with the exception of only 64 MB of RAM (performance is poor). Increasing your RAM to 128 MB would be the only upgrade I would strongly consider as my absolute minimum Windows XP system requi

I take pride in breaking my systems on a regular basis. That is how you learn. You can always reinstall. As to learing. I find it is best to start a project that is a little past your skill level. Then you are forced to learn if you want it to succeed. To back up what naraku9333 said, get used to using bash(the command line). Start copying files, looking around using the ls and cd command. Do everything thing possible using the command line, you will find it fun after a while. My main advice: just enjoy the ride(that goes for linux and life in general) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I take prid

There are soo may possibilites for a computer. The best is just to reccoment parts, and/or build it when people ask.

Well i just installed it a few hours ago and im loving it. Its a very new experience. And it does take a good amount to learn, at first your just like... ok now what. Soon you get hold of some basic commands. The thing i found the hardest is the lack of GUI interaction, most of it is all done from command prompt. Or at least from my experince. The overall feel of the OS is great, i love the look and feel of it. It looks nice while not over doing it, and it just plain works. Im not even gonna go back to windows except to load a game...
