  1. Even though marriage is the number one cause of divorce we will tough it out the best we can. I always get the last word in an argument......"Yes, dear".

We jokingly tell people our vows said "till death do us part" only. Some folks do not know how to take this....

  2. Vista has it's own issues. I blame many of the issues people are having with vista on the computer maker. Why stay with the minimum requirements for those who provide so much of your income. I know parts cost and it all comes to numbers, but I think if the maker would look at the long haul they would see running with 1 gig of ram will be a big investment in repeat buyers.

I did work on a Dell with XP Media Center, it shipped with 3.4 gig processor and 126 ram. The user called Dell, Dell went through all protocols, even replacing the hard drive. Users complaint, Machine is slow and will not load games like "The Sims". I looked at the machine and within five minutes explained the problem. I ordered 1 gig of ram installed it and now the customer is using the machine like never before.

Just because your car can "run" on three of the six cylinders does not mean it will run good, or even decent.

Bad analogy but you can get the point.

  3. Will watch it and post back in a day or so.

  5. Ok folks, yesterday was just the same ol Wednesday for me. Got up went to work, got home coached some baseball. Nothing major.

Except that yesterday was 15 years I've been married. I love the woman I am with, sometimes I am an A$$ though. I thank God for her patients, else I would have been booted to the curb long ago.

I jokingly say I just want to stay with her until we reach our 50 year mark together so I can get a picture in the paper.

So anyways, we agreed not to do gifts because we are doing so much for my son in baseball and my daughter made Jr High Cheerleader (need pockets of money for this). What do I do, you guessed it, Got a card and an inexpensive gift. This upset her because she did not get me anything. Boy can't win for losing. She liked it anyway. I told her I just wanted go give her something so she will remember I love her.

Now today I am working on the next 35 years.

    M

  6. I have Logmein running on this machine for remote access.

  7. He folks,

I have a machine I can not get completely clean. I run Adaware, Spybot, Prevx1, Free AVG, Trendmicro House call (online scanner), F-Secure online scanner, Smitfraudfix, Ccleaner, Cleanup, and JV16.

I can leave this machine on and I will get a new browser with spam type ads about one per hour. All the above scanners are up to date. I check for updates daily then scan. I have Sys restore off and set to 0%. I was getting hits in there even after I turned Sys restore off.

    Looking for advise....

HJT and a copy of AVG virus vault log is posted here.

    M

Also used Mutilate File Wiper (free trial) to wipe free space this past weekend.

  8. This is going to hurt the nation as a whole for a long time.

I can see more regulations for students from the colligate level all the way to grade school. We need to teach our children there are better ways to solve their problems. Everyone of us need to be accountable for our actions and accept the punishment for the laws we brake.

I would think that someone like this would have deep hatred under the surface. He may have seemed to be an "OK" type guy on the surface.

I am saddened for his family and the families of those he killed.

    M

Had to cool off for a second.

His actions will have effects for decades, His family will be the "Family of the VT murder". People do not want that tagged on to their label. We are labeled enough as it is. I can see this being played out in the media for the next 5-6 years in the anniversary, and again when others do this. It will always be referenced.

  10. I noticed you can export the virus vault list to a .csv file. I just noticed this. I will start exporting, printing, and attaching to billing invoices. This will let the customer see on paper what they have.

Many times the computer is shutdown and on the shelf ready for the customer when they come in to pay. I do not think they will take the time to go in to the vault or test results to see what they were infected with.
