  1. nevermind, I found one. I'd been sittin' here forever tryin to think of the program I had known of. I was hopin ya'll would remind me but I remembered it. It was CPU-Z.
  2. Well my friend's laptop is missing it's drivers and I have no clue what devices are in the system. I can't find the system on eMachines website. All I know is that it has a Sempron 2800+ and 512MB of RAM, PC2700 I believe. Thanks for help folks.
  3. who wants to abduct alien cows?
  4. NVIDIA!!!!!.............(I don't like ATI) Yeah as long as your computer has the slot to fit the card the memory on the video card doesn't matter.
  5. I've posted my messge on g4, first time I've posted there in months.
  6. This just came to me. How about a board where you can post anything of the arts. Say artwork of anykind you have found that you would like to share. It Could be a painting, a poem, lyrics to a song, or even an audio clip of some music. Anything of the sort. If you can find it in an art museum or if it pertains to anything art let it be posted in that board. What do ya'll think?
  7. Q-Tips, also never screw with clock speeds unless you know what your doing. He was kinda being like he was because of the lack of logic you showed to lower your temperatures. The best way to deal with temperatures is always make the HSF is operating correctly. If not, you should clean or replace it. Also it doesn't matter what the core is, messing with the clock speeds and the fsb is bound to have some kind of consequence especially if you do not know what you are doing. Just clean your fan, if that doesn't help then buy a new one. Also leave everything at it's stock settings. You also never t
  8. Here's my current bedroom PC desktop. I'll also go ahead and attach the actual wallpaper
  9. from my experience trying to underclock my 3000+, the system becomes very unstable. Your best bet to reduce temps is to make sure the fans are clean, and make sure the thermal paste is still in good shape. To fix my overheating prob I just had to buy a whole new fan altogether.
  10. I'll probably go dual core cause of the tiny price difference. A single core 3800 costs 284 and a dual core version is only 297. I may spring for the 4200 though. *Upon further deliberation, i've decided to go single core. I'm going to get a 3700 instead because it is only 235 nd has double the cache of a 3800.
  11. remeber, we already discussed the HDD issue a few weeks ago, I'm goin for a single large capacity IDE drive. SLI is out of the question for now, $ is an issue, I'll probably try and get a single 7900GT, not GTX. Until my parents chip in before college starts it'll probably have ot run on a PCI GeForce 4 MX 420. Possibly a low end 6 or 7 series card if I have a little left over. It's not that X2's suck at games, rather games do no utilize more than one core. usually when you are running a game, your not running anything else thus dual core is pointles. BUT I might want to use some stuff that ca
  12. OK I should have done this first thing. According to a Tom's Hardware review, only the high end processors benefit from DDR2. I'm going to be getting a mid range processor. SO I'm going to change my question. Should I actually get a dual core. Games is probably the primary purpose. Could be some things that could benefit from dual core. What, I Don't know. I can easily do most school work on one of my 2 Athlon XP systems. What stuff could I do that would benefit from dual core? Thanks.
  13. Well folks I finally have some cash to start building a new system thanks to graduation. The problem is I'm wonderin which socket to get. I was looking at the AM2. It supports DDR2 but there are no X2's out for it. The best out I've seen on newegg is a 3800+ Single core. The thing is I don't want to get stuck with old barely supported hardware again. Last time a I built a system It was just as PCI Express was picking up but I had an AGP board. Well AGP cards started getting sparse and now spending money on a new card ain't worth it. Do ya'll think this will be a problem with DDR memory. PCI-Ex
  14. I got a .303 British 1943 Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1 Rifle. The standard British and Canadian Rifle during WWII. This is my first firearm. And it's a a pretty robust round so I'm gonna be sore when I finally get to use it. Most people start with a .22 or something. Not me. I've got a military rifle.
  15. I trashed Norton a few months ago. I found it sucked @$$ back when I had a major virus scare when 2 attacked at once (idiot brother of mine opened 2 files that were supposedly from his school but they were zipped files that the email meesage claimed had important info, turns out they were 2 exe's disquised as txt's) Norton was the first thing that died. AVG Free Edition to the rescue! It couldn't update but at least it was up to date enough to catch those virsus. System restore and were back to normal. I let my Norton subscription run out uninstalled and deleted every last trace of it (i'm pre
  16. just clear your cache after using the internet and a firewall won't hurt either.
  17. first off why is there a plastic cover on the air vent 2ND! I bet my dad's work laptop can do it in half the time. It's an old IBM with a 233Mhz Pentium, 4gb drive and windows 98. That thing gets insanely hot.
  18. Embracing Fear......A song by Pagan's Mind Distant voices, calling my name Echoes from the past Are haunting me Different beliefs, erasing time I'm watching A world of blood red skies Fading memories, leaves no doubt There's a purpose to this life Till death comes along Screaming of anger As the sun disappears Hear my prayer as I say goodbye Seasons will change Heed is the wonder Now you are mine To shores of this night Embracing Fear Darkened Shadows Coming over me There where sun was Now there's only rain Holy spirit, save my soul When I'm staring into The devils eyes Seasons will change Hee
