My guess is if it still has a Quantum Fireball in it, it's IDE. Get a 40GB seagate from Newegg.com or an 80GB for a few bucks more. Seagate is a great brand. Western Digital is good too. My oldest drives are Seagtes. 2 and 3GB. I have 3 WD's. 2 20GB ones and an 80GB. The 2 20's are about 3-5 years old, can't remeber when I got them. My Largest and newest drive is a Maxtor, but honestly I wouldn't get another. mines mostly music stuff, songs and lyrics, some of which could even bethought of as peotry. take my last few signature quotes. none were poems. they were all lyrics from a Norweigan Progressive metal band's, Pagan's Mind, songs. well I right clicked the desktop then clciked properties. I switched to appearance. Then I clicked effects. I switched the method to smoth font edges to ClearType. And to think I was guessin at this.

well never mind, I stumbled into the answer myself.

Well on my copy of XP I have just plain old crappy lookin text like in 98 and 2k, but my friends laptop (XP), my copy of vista, and my copies of FC4 and FC5, there are more rounded fonts that look better to me. How could I switch to fonts like that. For example I will post screen shots of each desktop. The text under the icons is the same font that shows throughout the system obviously, also the internet. It'll take me that long to upgrade my computer to run it unless I catch some real good sales.. just make sure you have enough ram and a decent video card. Like I said I'm runnin' it on an Athlon XP 2600+, 512MB PC2100 RAM, and a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. I'm also using an old 20GB hard drive I had FC5 on. Never used it though. I think I may just buy a new 40GB HDD to put vista on for better performance. (Or maybe even put it in my Athlon XP 3000+, 1GB PC3200, GeForce 6600GT system.)
