  1. Sorry I don't pay much attention to how much the cheap stuff is but Premium 93 Octane is usually around $4.04-$4.19 depending on what part of town you go to.

My parents sure are happy they have a car with better fuel mileage now but the down side is obviously the car payment. They got rid of their fuel guzzling 03 PT Cruiser (with an average of 22MPG) and got an 08 Honda Civic EX Coupe. Once breaking the motor in (they bought it with 9 miles on the odo) it should average about the same as mine (slightly more efficient engine and transmission but weighs more and has P/S and functional A/C which they use) if not just a tad more.

  2. Could some one please check this to see if there is anything out of the ordinary. The computer seems to operating normally though slower than I would expect an Athlon X2 6000+ with 4GB of RAM and I'm just curious.

    Thank you for any help.

  3. Newegg has added another site now. Neweggmall.com sells other general items like clothing, hardware, and even automotive accessories. Unfortunately all the automotive stuff they sell is ricey crap you could get at Autozone. Still I thought it was pretty cool. If they could just start selling stuff like you can get off Evasive Motorsports, Weaksauce Parts, and Password JDM, then it would be the stuff. Apparently what they actually do though is have this stuff on their site but it actually ships from different companies. Stuff on Newegg.com comes from Newegg but this stuff on this new one doesn't or at least some of it doesn't. I haven't really looked at it much.

  4. Ha, I'm still pretty care free and am going into my 3rd year of college next semester. Then again, I live with my parents still and go to a community college in town so it's still kinda like high school (the reason why I am still in a CC is cause I changed degrees).

  5. Well, Pete covered a crapload. here's my $.02:

Go ahead and spend a little extra on a GeForce 8800GT over the 8600. Trust me. There is a WORLD of difference between the 2 and if you are a gamer, you'll be much happier with a single 8800GT than dual 8600GTS's. I learned my lesson with the 7 series on my previous rig. I cheaped out and started with a single 7600GT and then later threw in a second for SLI. Performance was not a great deal better and single 7900GT's were still better than my twin 7600GT's. This time around I went single 8800GT (almost went single 9800GT but for the price, the performance gain wasn't enough plus, it uses a revised G92 core which is the same as the 8800GT). And if you don't feel like spending that much on a card (which really if I own one, they are relatively affordable cause I never have money) then get a 9600GT. Comes close in performance to a 8800GT.

Having the dual 7600GT's did prove useful however in allowing for triple monitor operation when not gaming. Now I use a single 8800GT powering my main monitor and one of the old 7600GT's running both my side monitors while the other 7600GT is goin back into the old rig once I get a new PSU for it. Then I can have me an extra PC for something or I will give it to my parents to replace their (actually MY) ancient Compaq.

  6. don't know. A custom rod of some kind but I don't know much about pre-1985 vehicles aside from a few GM, Chrysler, and Ford muscle cars. Most of my automotive knowledge lies in Japanese and Euro cars anyway.

  7. Wow. That'd be like my friend gettin pulled over in his 69 Mustang for no Shoulder belt. It doesn't have one, only lap belts. He don't have that thing anymore anyway. Only has a non-running DSM

Also, what about old Vdubs? Me and my dad test drove an old 60's Beetle once and there wasn't a seatbelt to spoken of in that thing.

  8. well they're rated up to six ton vehicles and we've had a 4500lb 4Runner on them without a problem. I'm eventually gonna replace them with some metal low-pro ramps so I don't have to remove the lip every change. Also if I decide to lower it more, I'll definitely need low-pro ramps.

  9. Exhaust has been on a while now and I love it (SOOOO much quieter while cruising but gives a nice throaty tone when I put my foot in it) but for some reason, I have completely neglected to take pictures of it yet. But I do have some pics from today:

    oilchange002.jpg

    oilchange003.jpg

First time anyone's seen Midori without a lip in a while. The Carbon Fiber Replica J's Racing lip is about snap in 2 though. So I'm going to order an ABS Plastic Replica Civic Type R lip to replace it and then maybe an ABS plastic Civic Type R Rear lip to go with it. Then eventually when I have money, the lips will be painted to match the car.

  10. My parents know better than to buy computer parts in a store. Usually they talk to me about anything computer related and I look it up on Newegg first. If I can get it on there cheaper, I do (which is usually the case) or else I go somewhere in town and get it (like my speakers, Logitech Z-4, $50 at Office Max, $70 on Newegg about 2 years ago). For present days (birthday or Christmas) I just give them a list of stuff with links to places to order them to save them trouble.

Best Buy is not bad at all. I just don't like to go there for anything other than DVD's. When I don't necessarily have anything in particular in mind, I like to go to Best Buy and browse their Anime section for series I haven't seen. They have a really good anime section with decent prices (kicks the crap out of Suncoast, the so called Anime Central or whatever that banner said in their store). I don't like browsing online for DVD's due to the enormous list of stuff there is, both boxsets and single volumes. I only look online if I have something particular in mind...... or if I get an email from ADV Films about another huge sale, then I will browse ADV's site for anything good for cheap :P Hey that's how I got Chrono Crusade, Happy Lesson, Puni Puni Poemy, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Noir, and Azumanga Daioh

  11. So today I decided to buy the full version of Fraps for no particular reason. Had to test it out since the free version had a framrate counter already, I decided to use its unlocked video capture feature. So, I captured me playing a song on StepMania. Also, I was using it to show on another Forum how well I improved in the game. The guy was saying that the game was really hard past certain difficulty levels and was saying what he was able to do. I told him that I was actually worse when I started (and I was, I was terrible at the game at first):

He was blown away when he saw it and asked if I was using 2 hands. Nope, I use one hand. Which is amazing considering my relatively low dexterity in my hands.

  12. not a surprise. Went there once and got a CD Player for my old 85 Sunbird. Selection wasn't grand and the install crew messed up my dash lights. Best Buy always had a better selection, better prices, and a better atmosphere. I always get my car audio from a local store now (Electronic Express, Middle TN only chain) cause it's in town. It may be the only store like this in town, but it still has decent prices and a pretty dern good car audio section. Unfortunately they don't have squat in DVD's and no computer stuff. Plenty of TV's, Home Theater, Appliances, Car Audio, and other electronics though. I drive 45 minutes north to Cool Springs though and go to Best Buy to buy DVD's.

Rarely been to Circuit City and probably won't go there again either. I like Best Buy for DVD's, Electronic Express for Car Audio, Newegg.com for Computer Stuff.
