  1. yeah the 9800GTX's just came out...... which use a revised G92 core which is the same one the 8800GT and 8800GTS both use. The 9800GTX is also limited with only having 512MB of RAM, which my 8800GT has. I don't find a 9800GTX worth the extra 100 bones. For $209, the 8800GT Superclocked is still an awesome card that so blows my twin 7600GT's outta the water. Just tested it and CoD4 runs like an absolute dream.

  2. A'PEXi World Sport II Muffler Ordered from www.inlinefour.com and on it's way.......from California. My dad is hopin it gets here on time for my birthday :P

Can't wait till my B-Day. Lucky me it's on a Tuesday too so I don't have to work. I gotta go to Programming class instead. Still neither me nor the other guy at work with the same B-Day don't have to work. Trippy that there are only 8 people that work there and both me and this guy have the same B-Day. Exactly 7 years apart. I'll be 20 and he'll be 27.

  3. The Compaq power supply is 250 watts.

I have a power supply that I removed from an old Gateway.

It is Model number ATX93-3405. It is 185 watts.

Could I use this to check if power supply is the problem?

Possibly. As long as it has all the right hookups. I doubt that the Compaq requires that 250 watts. That 185 should get it. But to be on the safe side, just plug it into the motherboard only and see if it even POSTS.

  4. RARELY have I ever gotten a virus but AVG saved my first self built PC's hide once. My brother was home and decided to check his email while he was there and wound up unleashing 2 viruses on my system. Norton died immediately (that's when I realized Norton was worthless). I installed AVG real quick. It couldn't update but it was enough to stop and delete the viruses. System restore back one week and all was well.

Now I run AVG Free, AdAware 2007, and Spybot S&D on both my laptop and desktop. I use Vista's firewall for the laptop but I use right now, COMODO Firewall Pro on the desktop. I'm still trying to decide if I like it or not. Aside from that, I'm on a router. I practice safe surfing but occasionally I wind up somewhere that has me skeptical so Spybot and AdAware help me out. AVG is just there as a precaution for email or what have you. I know it's not incredibly useful but I always abide by "Better Safe Than Sorry". It's like wearing a seat belt. Some think, "naw, I ain't gonna wreck so why wear it?". I always wear mine, I always use anti-virus.... that's not Norton or McAfee. I can also compare to it to other "protection" but that's not quite appropriate on here :P

Also I use my PC's to scan "client" hard drives here and there. Friends and such that have infected systems, I'll put their drive into one of my systems as a slave and scan them with AVG to clean them up. That saved my friend's wife's PC. Scanned and cleaned the drive, put it back in the system it came from and voila, it was running more or less like new.

  5. I'm experiencing problems with my network recently while using uTorrent in combination with software firewalls. I'm gonna go ahead an list my current setup.

    Windows XP Home SP2

nVidia nForce Network Adapter (nForce590 SLi on an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition)

Belkin F5D7230-4 54g Wireless Router (hardwired on the main rig, wireless on the laptop and downstairs desktop)

    COMODO Firewall Pro

1 RJ45 Ethernet cable from the router going into Ethernet port #1

    Ethernet port #2 disabled

Integrated Realtek 8187 Wireless adapter disabled.

I used to use Kerio firewall before Sunbelt changed the name to Sunbelt Personal Firewall on my old computer. I pretty much never had an issue except once in a blue moon. Usually changing ports in uTorrent would remedy that (I have it set to for random ports on each start up). On the new rig I installed Sunbelt Personal Firewall but had extreme issues with things on a lot of websites loading wrong and getting bad request errors. I turned it off and didn't have issues so I downloade COMODO to replace it. Well now my internet works fine except when using uTorrent. It seems 9 times outta 10, my internet is unusable with uTorrent AND COMODO going at the same time (cannot connect to server errors). If I disable COMODO with uTorrent going, my internet is perfectly usable, not the fastest but usable.

As long as only one goes, my internet works. But if both are going, it's almost impossible to use the internet. It appears to be the same on my other systems. I figured if the firewall was stopping me from connecting on my desktop, I should be able to use the internet on my laptop. Well apparently I was wrong cause earlier I tried to use my laptop (wireless, Windows Vista built in Firewall) and couldn't get anything to load. I went back upstairs to my main rig and tried to open a site. Nothing. Disabled COMODO, everything loads fine.

OK, so does anyone have any clue on how I can use my internet with both COMODO and uTorrent going or do ya'll think I should just try another firewall? Also, since my motherboard has 2 usable Ethernet ports, would I benefit from having both connected to my router? Also, should I try attaching the one network cable to the second Ethernet port and disable the the first and see if there is a difference?

    * Just gonna add, it works with both going if I'm seeding but if I'm downloading, no internet unless COMODO is off. I just tested this. I have one file seeding (at only 5Kbps) with COMODO on and it works fine. Also did another test. I set the upload to unlimited on this file and now it's seeding around 40-50Kbps and my internet still works albeit a little slower.

**Another test. Started another torrent for a test. This time websites loaded but very slowly. Disabled COMODO, websites loaded faster.

Thanks for any help. This is really annoying me.

  6. Definitely getting an A'PEXi World Sport II muffler for my b-day and having it installed. After that I'm thinkin a Password JDM Carbon fiber Power Chamber Intake and some JDM Civic Type R mirrors (non-power folding)

    Intake:

    Password%20JDM%20Carbon%20Fiber%20PowerChamber%20Intake%20(EG%20EK%20Civic)%20Large.jpg

    Mirrors:

    2200L.jpg

I'm gonna try to get a hold of them mirrors soon cause they have very limited stock of them. I think I'll just rattle can them black until I can afford to have the car fully painted. I guess they'll make my car look like a EUDM/UKDM EJ9 (Civic 1.4) since they have black mirrors that are pretty much the exact same thing as CTR mirrors.

  7. wouldn't happen to be a bad board causing any issues?

I've only owned 1 ASUS board and it's in my current rig but I'm runnin an AMD setup (soon to change if nVidia doesn't start making good chips for AMD again otherwise, I'm goin Intel). If your processor is compatible, EVGA's Intel motherboards are supposed to be really good. My last rig ran an AMD EVGA motherboard (NF47 nForce4 SLIx16) and it was quite stable but I never overclocked (until right before I retired it but it was software overclocked through Windows) and only had 2 sticks of RAM in it. But I did have multiple USB devices attached and going (printer, external HDD, mouse, etc.) and my current ASUS (M2N32-SLI Deluxe) also has multiple devices plugged in (G11 Keyboard, MX518 mouse, printer, external HDD, sometimes a Steering wheel or Joystick or even both).

I believe my next build will have an EVGA board again cause they are supposed to have some really good boards out right now. Only reason I went with an ASUS this time cause I was too stubborn to switch to Intel (stupid) and EVGA didn't have any AM2 boards.

  8. I just realized what exactly you are working on. It shouldn't be too hard considering it's an N/A 2JZ-GE Inline 6. Be thankful you aren't having to work on a post 2000 Lexus. Just grab a repair manual or look up some stuff online (like Toyota Nation or something). At first I didn't notice it was a 93 SC300.

Note that you can get either an SC300, IS300, or MK.IV Supra manual for this (if you can't find the right one) since they all have 2JZ's in them. Just remember to read the instructions for the N/A 2JZ-GE and not the Turbo 2JZ-GTE (if there's a difference in the pump, I know the block slightly different).

  9. well my old password was 7 characters with only one of them being a number. This new on is pretty difficult for someone to just try and guess at I guess. I put it into to Thunderbird in the password manager to see what it thought. It had a pretty high rating in security. Far more secure than any previous password I've used for anything.
