If it is a problem with the CD-ROM then what you might do is install one disk and once it asks for the next disk let it sit a few minutes and then install the next and so on to the third disk. Could be a problem with the drive overworking it with a straight install.

Usb Connection Issues Sp2 Related?
lefty1953 replied to psyk0tic's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Service Pack 2 will not show up if it came with the XP software. If you didn't have SP2 with your XP software then it will show up in ADD/Remove. Did you install the Software for the New Camera? It will have it's own Drivers. As for the old Devices not working. try reinstalling their Drivers as well. After installing SP2 it is possible you would need to reinstall all your drivers. -
Usb Connection Issues Sp2 Related?
lefty1953 replied to psyk0tic's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Don't know if this is common or not but, I would try and install the drivers for the USB ports again. What type PC is this and do you have the drivers? -
I think you will see a difference and I would also, if you plan on doing it put it as Primary Master. When the PC searches it will look there first. Any buffer size difference is going to be faster. That why we all want more RAM it is just a buffer.

I Think My Hard Drive Is Failing
lefty1953 replied to Honda_Boy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Thats what to word is Marty. Personally I have never had any problems with Maxtor. I have used them since, well forever. Non-Ricer boy, Have you checked the cable on the drive? I had the same thing happen to an older gentleman's PC when I was resetting it up for him. It was taking forever to boot. I just decided to shut it down and check the cables. Turns out the cable was loose. If cable is loose, Power Max can give errors. -
If this is and most are an USB printer, try unplugging the USB cable and shut off the printer. Then Turn the printer on and then plug in the USB cable. Then try printing.
-
Open the printer and then click on Printer/Properties/Advance/Printer Defaults/Services and then HP tool box. From there you can clean the cartridges and get an estimate of how much Ink there is.

Unfortunately Camcorders have very poor quality sound unless you are right next to the people talking. I don't know of any programs that will filter the sound for you. Have you tried Tucows.com or Download.com?

Microsoft has been around how long now? Must be doing something right or I should say other OS's are just not working for the general public. Apple has what percent? Linux has what percent? Do other OS's run all the software on the shelf at the stores? Until the other OS's get with it, everyone will stick with MS. Nag nag nag and it's still the same. MS or M$ is always going to be M$. I which I had the money Gates has. And so does Apple and Linux.

Well then the link you provided would be a good choice. Of course not in the Downtown areas where buildings would cause interference.

Glad you pointed that out. I have never used Killdisk and just assumed it would work from another HD by stating the drive you wanted to Kill. So it is a download to floppy deal huh? Glad I never needed it.
-
Do you have the HD hooked up to another system? Just run Killdisk from the other HD on the bad HD. Then run Maxtor Tools on it. Or you will need a bootable Floppy with both MAxtor Tools and Killdisk on it.

Re-associate Wmp With Firefox
lefty1953 replied to Sir_Siddy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
You will need to uninstall and reinstall the player. Or Firefox. -
And do you have Digital service in your area and the areas you plan to take your laptop? There is very few areas that have digital service and the ones that do just don't have much selection of programming. This doesn't include Digital Cable or Dish Network nor DirectTV. It is for Digital over the air service that you can pick up on. Which means your local TV channels.

Might be just an isolated drive that was bad from the factory or a refurbished one that is bad. I'm sure they will replace it without any trouble.

So I guess that the Satellite modem and Router would have to be disconnected. I do have an Upgraded Graphics card but it has worked before with it in. I will try it with the Modem and Router disconnected. Thanks. I thought that might be the only reason. I have AVG, Spybot and Adaware running daily and even used Panda and Trend Micro and have found nothing else causing any problems.

I was trying to reinstall Windows and or the System back to the factory settings when I got this error. I can't do anything with it. This is a HP with the Backup on drive E: and nothing I tried from this web site works. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/156669 I can get Dr Watson to run but there isn't any Error log to look over. There is no problem with the Graphical Identification and Authentication (GINA) DLL in the registry. Last Known Good Configuration did not change anything. Recovery Console is when I get this error. Have you rebooted? Might be a program you ran before Firefox that left something hanging.
