New twist on the old theory that the universe is just a dream in the mind of some higher consciousnes. Just a bunch of philosophical psychobabble. Finite yet boundless Infinite yet bounded Infinite and boundless Finite and bounded There are many possibilities and other than through thought experiments there may be no real difference or way to tell them apart. I mean even if the universe is infinite; there is an event horizon just as there is for a black hole. A point beyond which the expansion (inflation) would mean that relative to you the boundary is expanding at the speed of light. An

Howdy Tyme and welcome back. I stop in here occasionally too.

Well I would go with it being the power supply , given the description of it becomming hard to turn on . That sounds like either a bios battery or bad power supply. Cmos battery is cheap and easy to replace so go that route first and try booting to bios. If it still does not , see if you can borrow a power supply to test it out. Sometimes if you remove all PCI cards, disconnect power to all drives and just leave in the processor (with heatsink and fan connected) and ram and video card you can boot to bios on a weak power supply. If it does this but not when things are connected ; replace th

Well it is possible that the chipset and bios on the motherboard only supports Celerons and not Pentiums. This is more common than folks realize; while the processor will fit in the socket it won't be recognized and the chipset cannot set the voltages etc to make it work. Will it damage the motherboard or new processor? Most likely not since if the chipset does not recognize the processor it will not power it up. Of course you are probably going to be out the cost of the processor , or face a return and restocking fee at the least. Remember that for any given processor speed the Pentium fami

First I heard of their toolbar. I do not use toolbars. http://foxit.ourtoolbar.com/privacy/ From their description page So new it isn't in many databases yet but here is a full summary of what it does. http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?ui...38-a2fc9a5cb30d It was added to the Castlecops / Tony Klein / Merijn BHO list only today Listed as Optional Removal , meaning there is no firm evidence to condemn it yet; but that other toolbars from the same developer (conduit / Effective brands) are known to be bad and this one does modify the search hook so it could potentially be unacceptable

Should have called 911 and reported a hazardous biological material spill. They would have surrounded him and held the truck until they got the leak contained and had hazmat crews go back and clean up all the spilled material. At least that is what they did when some milk got spilled from leaking jugs in a delivery truck in Dallas. Personally we drink primarily Soy Milk (Chocolate flavored. primarily 8th continent). Anyhow the milk gets pasteurized after it is pumped out of the collection truck (tanker) . The main reason for the "Food Grade Only" label is because they had a problem with som

Before they break you can generally get them off with the right hydraulic jack and some shims if you get things alligned right to have even pressure. Or you can get the proper tool. Once they break you generally need to heat em with a torch and beat on em if I recall correctly. I keep a set of heavy duty breaker bars, torque wrenches and some heavy steel pipe to act as extensions for difficult nuts and bolts; still I can recall a couple I had to brace one against the ground and then use a hydraulic jack on the other and let the weight of the vehicle bust it loose.

Acer Aspire 5100 Battery Status Problem
Pete_C replied to Sleepylazy49ers's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
The amount of time the battery is good for is not related to what software you use to monitor it. If you are having a problem with a NiMh battery not taking a full charge generally you need to totally discharge it , then let it charge overnight to fully charge (In some cases you have to do this multiple times to reattain a full charge) . Some have a bios reset for the battery charging cycle too. (Note Li-ION should not be fully discharged. In fact it is best for rechargeable batteries never to let them go below 25% capacity and never to overcharge them either, IE disconnect from charger when -
I read recently that the predictions are for Canada and the Northern US to have the coldest winter in over fifteen years There were numbers like forty six below zero . They said the snowfall predictions are still not finalized but look heavier than normal. Maybe they should send all the folks who think global warming is a terrible thing up there for a conference in early February.

Yeah, I knew an Astologer like that who used to want to know the exact time and location of birth to cast a horoscope ; but the funny thing was he firmly believed that the stars etc had nothing to do with it. He felt that the true nature of astrology was that it was empirically based from thousands of years of observations and predictions; more akin to biorhythms or some such and categorizing people then forecasting probabilities based on cyclical patterns of behavior, mood, activity etc. He also insisted that a persons chart was affected by the people around them at home and work (surpris

Times like this make me glad I live in Texas. It was mid sixties last night for the Cowboys to beat the Packers and today was again up in the mid sixties but cloudy. Tomorrow we are supposed to have a warm front, up in the seventies with a chance of showers, same for sunday.

Many possiblities marty. It could be they just imaged one install to all the hard drives then installed the drives in the laptops. No need to have anything but the hard drive that way. They could have used an external drive and boot floppy with appropriate drivers (IE similar to the apricorn laptop upgrade kit where there is a usb enclosure to put your new drive in , and a boot floppy / cd to run which has the drivers and cloning software) They could use a network boot floppy to boot it and access a networked computer which has the needed copy of the windows installer. Vista can be installed

Can golf ball be glued to device? If so, I too support the weight / rope approach but with the note that you will want to have it turn a wheel which drives the drive wheel. Traction is a must and calculating the length needed to go the distance is needed. one approach would be to make the wheels a set circumference and then have it advance a gear one notch each revolution. When the desired number of revolutions is reached then the gear trips a brake/ lock to prevent it from going further. Or can it be anchored? Then have a tether measured precisely (remember to take into account the length

Not everyone is born in a hospital. I was born at home. My mother called the family doctor who swung by to fill out the birth certificate and make sure she was okay. Of course I was the fourth of seven children so she knew what she was doing by then. (Only my oldest sister was delivered in the hospital, the rest of us were all at home unassisted like it used to be.). Yes, if you are born at a hospital they should have put the time on the birth certificate; but otherwise it may not have been included. I know when I was born because I had a silver commemorative "baby spoon" with the date and

http://www.merijn.org/ Merijn is the author of Hijackthis, Brute Force Uninstaller, Coolwebshredder and many more excellent applications. From his list of recommended help forums Personally, I think that being recognized by someone of Merijn's stature in the community is a higher honor than getting named a microsoft MVP.

LMC truck (LMCTRUCK.COM) Just sent me a Ford Parts and Accessories Catalog for 83-05 Ranger, 84-90Bronco II, and 91-94 Explorer I don't see your year or if it is 2DR or 4 But they list aluminum extruded running boards for explorers as $149 for 2dr and $169 for 4 door. I actually recommend getting their catalog , if they have one for your make and model. Got some exploded view diagrams which do chiltons shame and you can order most frame, body, etc parts ; things you would normally think are junk yard only parts . Of course, I then take the catalog and go down to the local "your Ford" salv

You got anyone who would be hiring a private investigator to check you out? It sounds more like a non legit attempt to tap your phone where the thing is not hooked up correctly (I know someone who had similar problems, they called the phone company to complain and the phone guy said that there line was crossed with an abandoned line to a garage on an ajdacent property , they cut the line and pulled it an no more problems.) The government is far more likely to just have it all done at the central station than risk having someone spot a truck in their neighborhood hooking things up (or have s

I used Dogpile years ago and someone else suggested it the other day so I checked it out again. Really disappointing. I did have some fun and did a search for myself and got a hit on some German site which says that I am either a technology connection or connection technology. Very interesting. I primarily rely on google but here are some other search engines I find useful from time to time http://vivisimo.com/ http://www.snap.com/index.php Has a nice filter to eliminate duplicate entries http://www.kartoo.com/ (a weird flash based graphical search , useful in some cases where you want relati

Pete_C replied to bobbynichols's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Yeah, I got the new update this morning and had some issues until I closed preloader, cleared cache and history and restarted. It seems better now, but I will wait. Have you tried changing your smooth scrolling settings in tools / options / advanced / general. -
Need Help With A .reg File I'm Creating
Pete_C replied to udfxrookie's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Well the first thing I would do is to make each operation a separate reg file This way you can test each one and see if it does what you want. Once you know it works, you can combine them. I see a couple I wonder about (The - seems to be in wrong place) but it may just be my eyes are tired. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{-5b4dae26-b807-11d0-9815-00c04fd91972}] for example -

Hmm, Sunday the 26th I was working on a computer (XP SP2) which did not have IE7 installed so I installed it. I did get a hiccup with the WGA install , had to download and save and open it to get it to work . Same for the IE7 installer. But all went alright in the long run. It restarted and all worked as it was supposed to.
