I think that this is a problem when there are incompatible third party apps which need updating first. Have you tried the "IE NO ADD ONS MODE" with all add ons disabled? Programs => accessories => system tools => IE NO ADD ONS Trying to find the network install download link for IT pros. Keep getting browser freeze in opera and mozilla http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-...ess/it-pro.aspx http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-...wide-sites.aspx Ah here you go http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Try download and reinstall.

Need Help! How Do I Clean Up Cat Pee To Remove Smell?
Pete_C replied to Fliliffroyari's topic in Open Chat
All urine glows in UV light. That is how hawks spot rodents. Rodents have some kind of genetically inherited kidney / bladder issue where they dribble all the time and leave a trail of urine. Useful in the dark to follow back to where they came from; but in daylight if you can see into the UV it leaves a glowing trail and you just look for the one that grows in length. -
Darn Bubba; you live like ten or fifteen miles from my Mother In Law. I always thought you lived in Texas near me; did you move there recently? Personally other than the weak power supplies I never had an issue with Compaqs.

Have you booted to safe mode and logged in with username Administrator? Can you log in to any account? You were not supposed to uncheck the box "users need a name and password" You were supposed to click the "Reset password" in the "Password for Administrator" box which controls the password for the safe mode administrator. You should be able to do a ctrl+alt+del at login screen to bring up a classic dialog box where you can type in the user name and password or use dropdown menu to select.

What happens if you go to start / run and type Iexplore (not Iexplorer) and hit enter? Have you tried any other shortcuts? If you bring up task manager does it show IE running after you have clicked the icon?

A lot of automatic updaters and indexers also use a command prompt window that opens and closes real fast on startup. Normally people do not notice this; but it can show up in the most unexpected places.

Aim Disconnecting Me Randomly

You might want to consider changing to a different messenger client and server Like Windows Live (formerly MSN Messenger) or even Yahoo. Time Warner could not find anyone to buy AOL and were tired of absorbing the financial loss so they just "spun it off" (dumped it and let it be an independent company which can survive or fail on its own). It is down to some 12 Million customers and is at best the number four search engine and is loosing money big time. Chances are it will not survive the year. It could be a problem with their servers; maybe they are moving or closing them down trying to cut -

Need Help! How Do I Clean Up Cat Pee To Remove Smell?

Having six dogs (found a good home for the Pit we were fostering. He is now on a ranch having a ball herding cows. Seems he has a natural talent for that; and loves to go swimming in the creek when he gets hot from herding cattle.) and four cats (plus the feral and her four kittens ) I found that a vital part of pet owner ship is a good carpet cleaner. Now you could invest in a fancy carpet shampooers or extractors like the Hoover Steamvac or Bissel green machine; but I have this neat thing I bought fifteen or twenty years ago called a SteamTeam from shop vac. http://calgary.en.craigslist. -
That fixes just about ANYTHING! Yes, butter, bacon, cream one of them can improve most foods.

Well, I went without shaving over Memorial Day weekend and my OL says it makes me look rugged and distinguished. Personally I think the white whiskers make me look old. I think they feel coarse; but she still insists they are soft. Baldness has its advantages. Ah I guess I will play along and post the pic. Beard makes the top half of my head look small.

I find that AVG is not something I would recommend. First off is the history of bungled updates and false positives. Some of these could result in a non bootable system. What I really dislike about version 8 is the new stuff like the link scanner which really bog things down and do not allow for simple uninstall or disabling. Many of the new "features" wind up requiring you to do a complete uninstall and then custom install being very careful what you let it install if you do not want it running and bogging things down. And the poor performance at catching and blocking malware and removing

True'; unless Trend notices this and comes out with a new improved version of HijackThis. The main reason Hijackthis got to where it is was the grass roots movement started by Merijn to promote classroom training for malware fighters to learn how to read the log and use the miscellaneous tools available in HJT to identify infections and begin cleanup. There are other tools (like combofix and dekerds system scanner. etc. ) which list more information than the default HJT scan but there are issues. One has to know how to read what one gets ( I remember when folks used to post all kinds of logs

Nice; it fits. My biggest gripe with the new ones is that you need a much larger 16:9 to get the same "viewing height" as a smaller 4:3 (Something like a 32 inch to replace a 25 inch ?) So at the same width or diagonal you get a much smaller pic. Not so much an issue with 16:9 content but so much of what I watch is still 4:3 and looks funny if you stretch to fit and tiny when viewed normal. Then there is the issue of the old entertainment center with a 4:3 hole which now has a gap to fill (not an issue, just put in an extra shelf and now you can fit the tv , dvd player, and cable box all in

Same here; and I learned my lesson once at the Farmers Market (which bizarrely does not have any real Farmers from what I can see). One of the "farm merchants" had some good looking corn at a good price so I bought a bushel and got home only to discover it was feed corn not sweet corn. Edible if boiled all to hell and buttered and salted half to death but not good by any sense of the word. But I prefer sweet corn nice and fresh.

I never had a problem with WinME; but like Win98 it is a thing of the past. No longer does Microsoft release new security updates for it; so any new exploit discovered is wide open. Likewise few if any third party manufacturers bother to make versions compatible with it any more so that you are stuck using older versions which have vulnerabilities including zero day exploits where malware on a site can disable your antivirus and firewall, install silently without confirmation or even alerting you that it is installing and worse. I think one reason it got a bad rap was so many people who de

I never water or fertilize; just mulch and if it fails to decay fast enough I apply some Roebic Septic Tank Cleaner (bacteria and enzymes which break down cellulose) and it soon turns to humus. We have that low pressure moving in reverse direction (like Hurricanes and Tropical Depressions) from Florida to Texas due in for the Memorial day Weekend. Sporadic showers all weekend predicted, but this type rarely turns severe; thunder and lightening are unlikely just some good rain to keep things growing. Need to mow the front and back lawns again. Got an invite to a bash sunday with a real band

Been beautiful all week. Low eighties, dry , light winds. Which leads to the inevitable result; the first ozone alert (level orange) of the season. Warning breathing may be hazardous to your health this afternoon if there is not any wind. Refrain from lawn mowing, driving and filling up on gas this morning and avoid exercise and outdoor activity this afternoon. Ah well , the day is still beautiful even if we are not supposed to enjoy it. Probably will have a massive sinus headache and cough by mid afternoon if the ozone level gets up there.

Problems With Video/bios And Clock
Pete_C replied to banana_man's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Well I always use canned compressed air for computer cleaning. More force and a directable nozzle to make sure you blow things out. Odd , that your clock is stuck at noon. Did you try changing to 24 hour mode (military time)? It is beginning to sound more and more like you have a motherboard problem. Note that you cannot sync with an internet time server if your time is to far off. Not sure what constitustes too far off; but try to make sure you have the correct day and year and are within an hour of the time when you set it. From what I see this is most frequently caused by your selecting -
The probability that address filtering will prevent a network with WPA (or even WEP) enabled from being compromised is vanishingly small. And I see any extra step added required for an attacker is an increased step of security. I fail to see how you cannot, and you act almost as if "hackers" are going around home networks consistently trying to break in, which to be honest is so very rare in most areas that it isn't even worth worrying about. You are correct; many people are overly paranoid about being hacked. For the most part home users are not going to be the target other than as target

Problems With Video/bios And Clock
Pete_C replied to banana_man's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
With a fresh install I would suspect that you forgot to set the time zone when you installed. Double check that it is correct. -
Yeah, I mowed the front yesterday and the back needs it again but it is raining again today. At least this round does not seem to be severe , no big boomers yet. Had a couple of those "momentary" outages in the last week. Went out with the OL and when we got back the DVD recorder was on (its default recovery from power out) and one (solid state controls window unit) AC was off (its default recovery from power outage) . So , either the dogs are messing with things they should not or the power was out . None of the clocks is off or flashing though so it must have been brief. Looking like a nice

Problems With Video/bios And Clock
Pete_C replied to banana_man's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
The CMOS retention battery on the motherboard provides power to the clock and bios chip when the computer is off (although with switching power supplies and modern boards as Hondaboy said it may only come into play when the PC is unplugged too). The key symptom of a bad battery is that the clock falls behind when the computer is unplugged but when you power up and it goes online and checks time it syncs up (or you reset time manually) and then it maintains time while on. If the clock actually does not keep time while the computer is up and running it could be any of a number of issues. One w
