    If the case is a faulty stick o'ram, if you bought it at just about any retail store,you should be able to exchange it with no problem. Especially if you still have the receipt, but even without, if you tell the manager what you told us, he should do an even exchange for you. After all, you bought his product in good faith, he should want to keep your business. Liz

    Thanks for researching for me!!! Even if there are no results, you experts know what to look for! Will update again after responses, if any, from the companies (I know Mcafee is usually pretty prompt). Gotta wrestle the "good" computer away from son first (it has the "home email" on it) :) Liz

    Hi Codemuffin,

    Oh, how I hate to tell you this, but caffeine withdrawl CAUSES headaches---whether you drink 1 cola a day or a 3 pots of coffee a day. Something to do with the blood vessels in your head. Many "extra strength" pain relievers contain caffeine for that very reason. BUT herbal tea is much better for you for the antioxidants it contains!

    Finally got around to reading the link! A few days ago I read the Tom Coyote article, went to compare just now and got a "This page cant be displayed...", but if I remember right, I think the Aunty Spam article was much easier to read and understand for my nontech mind. Or maybe its just the larger print :) (and I know Sidekickcat will agree with me there!) So, Barb, I'm glad you submitted it!

    A question, though, this only activates if you click the pop-up, right?? One of our house rules is never click those things, so I'm *hoping* this idiot box is safe....for now. Want to make sure I'm reading the info correctly! Thanks, Liz

    I heard about the early drought on the news a few days ago---that is not good. I remember all the wildfire problems in past years. Hard to imagine drought conditions in March...

    Also saw footage about the hailstorm---wow!!! Guess some areas got more than a foot (now thats one slippery mess)

    You reminded me of when my sister moved from MI to KY. At first she marvelled at everything closing with 1/2 inch of snowfall, the accidents, stupid driving, etc. (down there they attach plows to the garbage trucks because they have no plowtrucks!) She called them "lightweights". She moved back to MI a year ago and now absolutely refuses to drive on any snow at all!!! *insert drawl* Guess she fergits purty quick.

    And we rose to 32 degrees this afternoon. Yes!!! I actually heard a cardinal!

    I was rummaging through G4 forums and the "production team member" made another post on the topic he started about the new show name. He started off with a comment like, "I go away for the weekend and look what happens...." and a few paragraphs later he writes:

    "Sounds like most of you are trying so hard not to like the show that any name would send you into a tizzy. When in reality, if you were flipping through the Tivo listings and saw the name “Attack of the Show†on Comedy Central, or the Cartoon Network, you might select it to watch."

    Never thought of a Mcafee conflict---duh!! Thank you. Thats why I love the great minds here.

    I am researching prep stuff and getting ready to get SP2, I'm just a chicken, (I set a goal of before April) and I will remember that patch--that is one game Son plays with an exchange student in London, so its a great way for them to keep in touch.

    Oh, yeah in reference to me calling it a Dumb Game----it was late, I was tired, and working beyond my limited technical knowledge trying to fix Son's dilemma!! At that time, "everything was dumb!" :) I know he really enjoys playing Starcraft! Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers (or fur? :) ).

    The a**hole weatherman happily announced "Spring" arrived at about 7:30 this morning. I cussed, threw pair of folded socks at the TV and changed the channel. We have 8 more inches of fresh snow on the ground and the high today was 30 degrees. 4 days ago, we broke a 73 year old record with a low of 7 degrees. There are still giant icebergs on Lake Michigan. We usually have the "January Thaw" for a week, this year it was one day. There is no end in sight. Son and I went to Kentucky a week ago...and it.....SNOWED! We go there to thaw out!

    Everyone west of Michigan (prevailing winds come from the west), please feel free to go outside and spray Lysol or hairspray in our direction!!!.....help...me....please

    Hello all,

    Son will probably be the one reading and responding to this since I've never played a game other than Freecell and Minesweeper!

    Son has Starcraft (original and expansion pack) and even though they played just fine yesterday, today it was totally uncooperative, wouldn't load, D Drive light just kept blinking. Checked Drive with another game and an audio CD and they worked fine. Tried the E Drive, too, same results. Computer became so sllllooowww that I ended up doing System Restore to March 17th. Everything we tried--except that dumb game--worked great!! Mcafee Internet Suite detected nothing on a Virus Scan (it picks up spyware, too, so far anyways), Defrag "wasn't needed" (did that about 3 weeks ago).

    He uninstalled and reinstalled the game, game wouldn't load and the Mcafee Virus Scan disabled itself. He re-enabled Virus Scan and game wouldn't load. He disabled Virus Scan (just the virus scanner, not the firewall) and is now happily playing the game. Edit--at the stroke of 1am, the game just vanished and went back to the desktop.?. (he needs to go to bed anyways) We've had Mcafee "forever" and it has never before interferred with anything, and I don't like it being disabled (he plays online). What is going on here? Any suggestions?

    SP1 came with the idiot box, but haven't installed SP2 because this DUMB GAME was on the "may not work list" (the things we do for our kids.....)

    Mcafee Internet Suite Version 7.0, installed Feb. 20, 2005 and automatically updated.

    Thats all that looks pertinent....I don't know what a lot of this means.

    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Oh, and the whole idea of Hijack This scares me to death, I'd rather avoid it if I can..... Thanks, Liz

    (Oh my, this is turning into quite the gossip column---I love it!!!! :) )

    But, is the kid from Pakistan part of developing the new boards? He seems like it. Just curious. I get the impression that he speaks for Josh and Leo sometimes. And altho he does seem to be well, kinda "pushy" (for lack of a better word), he is also real quick with the apologies when he does ruffle feathers. Ah, its the age...

    Too bad Cap'n Alan's stories "couldn't" be moved. I haven't read them (I just never liked science fiction.....) but new members will really be missing out. I hope he copies all of them. Liz
