  1. Thanks Marty, Im going to delve for some info about these incidents.
  2. Good to know TT. I wouldn't have thought about CPU problems causing data corruption.
  3. Reinstalled and runnng well so far. Once windows is updated ill run some hard drive diagnostics. If the drive is bad, the good news is it's a Seagate. Good ol 5 year warranty Now were'd I put that receipt... EDIT: Strange how XP went from fine to dead in 2 days time...
  4. The CPU temp is now about 110F/45C with the fan spinning at 2750rpm. Still wont boot into regular mode (or, I wont give it the 30 minutes it needs) Im going to try safe mode. Now the POS won't even boot into safe mode. Time to break out the Windows XP disc I guess...
  5. Hey Shanenin. Dont know about the temps yet. Still waiting on it to boot. Ill give it 5 more minutes then Ill reboot adn check the temps in the bios, as well as the fan speed. What speed should the heatsink fan be running at? Somewhere around 3k?
  6. Ran sys. restore and cleaned out the heatsink. Plenty of dust. Now Im on the 15th minutes of booting up... gahhh
  7. For the past few days my computer has been weird. It started with blue screens. Then today i got a warning that my CPU was overheating. Turns out my CPU is 160F/71C at IDLE! Ok, last time this happened somethign got jambed in the fan... open up the case, fan is spinning! Uh oh... Maybe a broken sensor? Computer hasn't shut itself down yet, so no big deal, right? Well now the computer takes 15 minutes to boot up, just to hang. Itll boot up (eventually) in safe mode, but is still veyr slow. 5 minutes for programs to start up (sometimes), then sometimes they start right up. It took me about 5 hou
  8. Any warming is mostly natural. If human has ANY effect, it's quite small. If anything is out of the norm, it's the past several hundered years of fairly calm weather. (IMO) Im not sure of the gulf storms you are talking of. If you mean the hurricanes we had a couple years back, purley natural (seasonla BTW) . It was just a bad year. Hasn't happened since, and doesnt look like it will happen this year (knocks of wood ) COuld you give me a link to the odd weather you're speaking of in NZ? Sounds interesting. Id like to do some research on that...
  9. I mean this respectfully Marty, however... Much of the USA is NOT having floods. A SMALL part of the country had problems for a while. A part of the country that Ive personaly experienced that type of weather before in. Jeesh, weather gets a littel wacky and everyone points to man made global warming. What did people point to before the global warming hype?
  10. Gah, Ive gotten two blue screens today. Microsoft.com tells me they MAY be from a virus. Could someone please look over this HJT log real fast? Thanks! 11. 1 gigawat? LOL! I love that term... Good Job
  12. Im thinkin on starting up a website. Half of it will be devoted to user reviews of scuba diving equipment. Sorta like Amazon.com, but just for diving stuff. Their seems to be an unfullfilled niche in cyberspace for this. I have it planned out except for for key thing, how do I go about setting up the review system? Id like it to be automated, so users can write a product review and have it show up instantly on teh site. Ive looked at a couple services that can do this, but all so expensive. Ill be making nothing from this site so Id like to do it freely. Any ideas?
  13. Always workin on that car... Ya know, if ya bought something better (like a Ford for example) you might not have to work on it so much, in return making your laptop last longer
  14. Wow, that has "yankee" written all over it Time to put in a couple window units. Might not cool the whole house, but one in the bedroom and one in the computer room adn you're good to go.
  15. Heh, my cat said he aint skeerd, but you have to come to me.
  16. HA! Apperently you put down some tastey fertilizer
  17. Hi Shanenin, Yes, it's absolutley possible. Infact, it's perfectly normal and expected to happen. Although, usually it would happen WAY before the 5 year mark. How many miles are on the car? Congrats on the good gas milage. ALso, hows the quality of the Kia? I know they used to be pretty bad, but recently ive heard a lot of good things about them! $8k for a new vehicles witha warranty can't be beat.

  19. That's pittyfull. Hopefully youll see it out on the streets on day. I believe that would fall under justifiable homicide.
  20. Interesting gas map.... http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx
  21. That doesn't even begin to make sence... Once again California shows us they have no regard for the consitition. Im sure other states will hop aboard now. I hope I rememder not to plan crimes over Yahoo, and to use someone else's computer to research my crimes
