    Anniversary

Congrats JSKY and the other long term survivors. I've been divorced for 11 years now (married for 12) and like TT_75, I've learned to just say no. I finally realized I am attracted to insane women. Smart interesting and attractive, but insane.

    I'm Back.......

It's good to hear from those members who have survived this tradgedy. Hope the others will check in soon.
  7. Happy Birthday Liz. Sorry I'm late, I've been MIA for awhile.
  8. Hey, I love Strats, just that my first electric was a Les Paul copy from Sears(I've got the real thing now ) and I just could not get used to anything else. My parents started me in guitar lessons when I was 6 years old, got that Les Paul copy when I was 10. So I guess I have practically grew up with Les Pauls. I used to marvel at artists like Stevie Ray and I'd go to the music store and grab a strat but, it just didnt feel right. Now playing:Gibson Les Paul Standard, heritage cherry sunburst finish, bought new in '91. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [/quote It's all about style and feel.
  9. Wow! This isn't a racist tragedy, it's a human tragedyyou people make me sick.
  10. i'm really not going to engage in this level of "discussion" but the mayor of n.o. managed to get 80% of his residents out..in a relatively short time..he has 200,000 people stranded with no water/food or basic necessities..he's got thousands dead and dying...he's got a governor who declares a day of prayer..instead of a day of get the help out..and politicians all over the media holding press conferences..thanking each other..while his city dies..i think he's entitled to a bit of cussing.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. The response to this has been horrible.
  11. I somewhat agree, although they were offering free bus rides, by the time they did that, it was pretty much too late. This whole situation has been known about for decades. The levees were built to withstand catagory 3 storms. Nothing has been done to beef up the defenses for this city. The blame can be pretty much spread everywhere. I blame the lack of immediate response directly on the Feds. I'm no expert on disasters, but even I could see this coimg. 4 days to get food and water in there is ridiculous. The airport was fully functional. There should have been aircraft from every state loaded
  12. OK. Now that makes sense. Maybe they were being nice to the locals and let them fill up before the gouging starts. Although that doesn't fit my idea of the usual business model, some companies do have a sense of treating their customers nicely.
  13. You guys are gonna start walking out of town with a catagory 5 hurricane that is 200 miles wide bearing down on you? Yeah, that's a good plan.
  14. Umm you still have a house? And you're bitching about people who have lost everything they have and have been without food and water for five days? I'd just as soon keep this kind of crap out of BT. At best this should have been posted in the rant thread.
  15. Yes the guy is a genius. Although I personnally prefer the strat for rock and roll. Not dissin Gibsons at all.
  16. uh oh we have collided. Take your pick.
  17. Hey Liz. That's crazy. A tourist town (or anyone for that matter) lowering gas prices for Labor Day weekend? Makes no sense.
  18. Oh.........come on. Please.....I can handle 1(or several) more. haha........I can't think of anyone more deserving. Please? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree.
  19. Joy to the World. Now I remember why I didn't like them.
